2. Throughout our film there are two different
groups that are portrayed in two very different
ways. One group is the police (Good guys) which
are stereotypically portrayed as intelligent, smart
looking, strong characters that are often mentally
as well as physically strong to suit their job roles.
We have used costume to do this, by giving D.C.I
Bloor smart clothing we have emphasized his
intelligence and made him look professional. This
has also been used in the film Fast and furious and
Takers with the actor Paul Walker to create the
same effect as has been used in our film.
3. Another group are the criminals, they are
stereotypically portrayed as either really
rich (Usually for bigger crimes or drug
lords) or they are portrayed as people from
bad backgrounds in chavvy clothing and are
often from the African English ethnicity.
Many big films such as Adult hood and tv
shows such as Topboy do this in a similar
way as it is more realistic and can relate to
more of the audience. We have done this
with the character Kurtis, we gave him a set
costume to wear and told him to act in an
attitude that would stereotypically fit his
character and give off the impression we
wanted.
4. We have portrayed these two social groups in this way because as well as being
realistic they highly differentiate from each other. One way we have done this is
with the diagetic dialogue used, D.C.I Bloor speaks in a formal manor to bring
across his smart positive attitude and show his intelligence, however Kurtis and
Lewis Lock both used slang terms and an aggressive term to create the same
affect.
