- Advancing the Kingdom.

The Kingdom of God :
 Is wherever God reigns …
 To the extend …. To the degree… we allow God
to Reign / Rule in …
 Our Lives individually
 Our Families
 Our Church
 Our Community
 Our Nation
THE KINGDOM
OF GOD WILL BE
MANIFESTED &
SHOWN
#9 Kingdom Expansion - Advancing the Kingdom.

So - Kingdom Expansion …
Kingdom Advancement …
Starts with the INDIVIDUAL …
YOU & I
The Kingdom of God CANNOT …
happen in FAMILIES if the individuals in the
families will not allow God to rule…
esp Fathers as the head …
Same with Church …
Community …
Nation ….

So YOU & I are
THE KEY to ….
 Kingdom Expansion…
 Kingdom Advancement…
 to the extent …
 to the degree …
that we allow Christ to reign…

Scripture Ref : 1 Cor 3:9-13
9 For we are God's fellow workers;
you are God's field, God's building.
10 By the grace God has given me,
I laid a foundation as an expert builder,
and someone else is building on it.
But each one should be careful how he builds.
11 For no one can lay any foundation other than
the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 If any man builds on this foundation using
gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or
straw,
13 his work will be shown for what it is,
because the Day will bring it to light. It
will be revealed with fire, and the fire will
test the quality of each man's work…

1st KEY :
MATERIAL
Q: What MATERIAL are you
using to build your
“HOME”?
Or as a corollary …
What MATERIAL are you
using to build your “LIFE” ?

1st KEY : MATERIAL
Q: Are you building your
home / your life with
material that will last ?
… last for eternity !!
What are you ‘building with’
that is of eternal value ?

1st KEY : MATERIAL
It may be …
 Degrees & Status !!
 Possessions & Wealth !!
 Family & Friends !!
 Leisure & Enjoyment !!
All these are important…
even “necessary”…
BUT do they last ?
will they last for eternity ?

9. Kingdom Expansion - Advancing the Kingdom.
1st KEY : MATERIAL
Q: What then can we build with now …
that will last for eternity ?
Generally all people believe there’s a
Heaven and a Hell…
Generally also people want to go to
Heaven rather than Hell …
If Heaven is where you want to go to…
then Heaven is where you would
want your family & friends to go to …

1st KEY : MATERIAL
Matt 6:19-21
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves TREASURES IN HEAVEN,
where moth and rust do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
 So Store Up TREASURES IN HEAVEN.
Q: What is this “TREASURE” ?

Matt 28:19-20 Great Commission
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end
of the age.”
 Jesus commanded us to make disciples…

1st KEY : MATERIAL
HEAVEN has only ONE DOOR…
and THE DOOR is JESUS …
One ‘MATERIAL’ that you should be
 BUILDING WITH,
 LIVING FOR …
that you can bring with you
to HEAVEN…
 PEOPLE you love & care about…
 share Christ with them …
 help them to know Christ…
John 14:6 "I am the
way and the truth
and the life. No one
comes to the Father
except through me.”

Scripture Ref : Matt 25:32-36
32 ALL THE NATIONS will be gathered
before HIM, and HE will SEPARATE
the people one from another as a shepherd
separates the sheep from the goats.
33 HE will put the sheep on his right
and the goats on his left.

Scripture Ref : Matt 25:32-36
34 "Then the King will say to those on his right,
'Come, you who are blessed by my Father;
take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared
for you since the creation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36 I needed clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me,
I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

1st KEY : MATERIAL
Another TREASURED ‘MATERIAL’ will be …
 Loving, Helping, Caring …
Esp for the poor, orphans, widows, ‘aliens’…
 Doing good is evidence of salvation
NB : “Goats”- not active evil-doing…
But neglecting to do good…
James 4:17 “Anyone, then, who knows the
good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.”
(sin of commission)
(sin of omission)

Live in such a way that
those who know you
but don’t know God,
will come to know God
because they know you !

2nd KEY : FOUNDATION
MATERIAL is important …
But more important is the FOUNDATION
for our home / our life…
FOUNDATION must be :
 Right…
 Strong…
 Secure…

Scripture Ref : 1 Cor 3:11
11 For No One Can Lay Any
Foundation Other Than The One
Already Laid, Which Is Jesus Christ.

There is only ONE FOUNDATION…
 Jesus Christ
 Eph 2:20 – chief cornerstone
 1 Pet 2:6 – chosen & precious cornerstone
Jesus is the ONLY FOUNDATION for
 God’s People - Christians
 God’s Work & Ministry

Non-Christians say Christians are …
 proud …
 narrow-minded …
 ‘bigoted’ ….
thinking / teaching Jesus is the
ONLY WAY …
All religions … ‘are good’
‘teach people to do good’

Please Consider -
Christianity is the ONLY Religion…
 with a LIVING SAVIOUR …
 that ACKNOWLEDGES SIN …
and deals with it …
 It is not Christians who say it …
It is direct from the Bible – God’s Holy Book …
 Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for
there is no other name under heaven given to
men by which we must be saved."

Q: WHY the importance ?
 1st Key : ‘MATERIAL’
 2nd Key : ‘FOUNDATION’
Q: WHAT has it got to do with me ?
Q: HOW will it affect my life ?
Q: WHERE will it lead to ?
A: WHY, WHAT, HOW & WHERE is
because of the 3rd Key….

12 If any man builds on this foundation using

13 his work will be shown for what it is,
because the Day will bring it to light.
IT WILL BE REVEALED WITH FIRE, AND THE
FIRE WILL TEST THE QUALITY OF EACH
MAN'S WORK…

You and I may not like it ….
BUT there is a TEST coming up …
Not only a test but a FINAL EXAM …
For everyone …
What we have done here on earth …
 our ‘Foundation’ …
 the ‘Material’ we built with ….
 Will determine our result.

3rd Key : ‘FINISHING WELL’
If our FOUNDATION is in Jesus Christ …
 have Accepted Jesus …
 invited Jesus into our heart…
Then we will FINISH WELL …
Because Jesus will be our JUDGE …
Ref: John 5:22 “… the Father judges no
one, but has entrusted all judgement to
the Son (Jesus Christ)”

1st Key : ‘MATERIAL’
2nd Key : ‘FOUNDATION’
3rd Key : ‘FINISHING WELL’

You can only “save yourself” ….
 Just because your …
 Parents are Christians …
 Children are Christians …
 Spouse is a Christian …
Will not save you …
You need your own FOUNDATION.
You need to accept Jesus for yourself …

Application :
i. The Kingdom of God starts with the INDIVIDUAL
ii. SALVATION is PERSONAL
iii. JUDGEMENT is PERSONAL
All of us need to face Judgement before Jesus
We cannot say, I’m not a Christian because…
 My son who’s a Christian still smokes, gambles…
 Christian neighbour argues all the time…
 My Christian boss lies on his income-tax…
 That Christian cheats on his wife …

Application :
iii. JUDGEMENT is PERSONAL
Rev 20
v10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into
the lake of burning sulfur, …
V15 If anyone's name was not found
written in the book of life, he
was thrown into the lake of fire…

If you are Not a Christian …
Please consider what ‘MATERIAL’ ?
What ‘FOUNDATION’ ?
How Will you ‘FINISH’ ?
If you are a Christian …
The Kingdom of God starts with you …
Any change needed ?
Where, What, How ?
