3. 1. In the first screen shot that I have taken in the slide
above you can see a link between the lyrics of the
song and the video. We cleverly started our video
by having the lyrics flashing up in time with the
song.
2. In the second screen shot that I have taken you can
see what I believe a record company would want to
see from their artist. This is hip hop and our artist is
dressed with an urban feel but yet I still regard it as
smart.
3. In the third screen shot I think I have a very good
example of how my music video uses genre . I think
that it shows the artist with a cap on backwards
which is definitely a feature of the Hip Hop genre.
4. In the fourth screen shot you can see that I have
found an intertextual shot. In our video we have our
artist singing to the camera and this is the same as
in Kanye West’s video.
5. In the fifth screen shot you can see that I have
chosen a long shot of our artist. You can see that we
have thought about different types of shots. We

We filmed this part of the video at night time and
the lighting is very interesting.
7. In the seventh screen shot you can see an
image of our artist waiting for the doors to open
on the train. This is part of the mis en scene as
you see him travelling a lot in this video to his
final destination.
8. In my eighth screen shot you can see our artist
stood with a lot of luxury cars. This is a common
concept in many Hip Hop videos . They are
always trying to portray their wealth.
9. In the ninth screen shot you can see our artist
has just got into the car and driven off . This is a
very common feature in almost every music
video. The artists always drive their cars.
6. 1. In the first screen shot that I have taken a screen shot . The
screen shot contains a picture of Wiz Khalifa making a sign
that represents being arrested. This is a direct link to the lyrics
which mention him being arrested the night before.
2. Above is a picture of Wiz Khalifa in his video for No Sleep.
This screen shot that I took would typify how the record
company would want their artist to be represented . I chose to
take this screen shot as it has Wiz Khalifa wearing a suit and
wearing sunglasses. This is a look that the record company
would be proud to be represented by. Wiz Khalifa is also
wearing an expensive watch that shows the record company is
affluent .
3. Above I have selected a picture of Wiz Khalifa that illustrates
the music genre he is in which is Hip Hop . He is seen wearing
a flat peak which is something that is very commonly affiliated
with the Hip Hop genre. He is also wearing what looks like a
very expensive watch . Wealth is a common concept that Hip
Hop artists try to express . Wiz Khalifa Is also dressed fairly
casually which goes to show that he is not to worried about
looking smart he is more worried about look casual.
4. Above you can see a screen shot that I have taken of the Rap
artist Lil Wayne from his highly successful song Lollipop. As
you can see he is in the back of a Limousine with a lot of
women . This is something that you will see a fair amount as
rappers are keen to show off their wealth and their women.
7. 5 In the fifth screen shot I have taken you can see an image of
the hip hop artist Drake sitting at a table. The reason behind
this screen shot is that It shows a long shot of him . This is my
example of a use of different camera shots.
6 In the sixth screen shot that I have made you can see a clear
example of use of lighting. Throughout the video there is a lot
of use of lighting as it goes from dark to fairly light like the
screen shot that I have made. You can see that the artist J cole
has a large amount of lighting focused solely on him.
7 In the seventh screen shot that I have taken you can see what
I believe to be he mis en scene of the video. Throughout the
video it keeps changing from the artist alone to the artist at a
party and I think the party is a constant theme. This is a
screen shot from Yelawolfs video for I just want to party.
8 In the eighth screen shot you can see an example of a shot
from one of Tyga’s music video. This shot is similar to one of
the shots from Wiz Khalifa’s No sleep video.
