This presentation explains that us humans share and learn best by telling each other stories. Stories are great because they give context and nuance. Organisations are also full of stories. Every project is a story developing over time, every client is a story, and every employee is a story. Somehow in larger enterprises we have stopped using the narrative to transfer knowledge and we've ended up in a world of documents. Documents generally perform very poorly in creating context because all context is given in meetings or emails. Social technology offers us the opportunity to go back to the powerful narrative by using threaded conversations and making the documents attachments to that conversation. By doing this we capture the context of how and why things happened again.
