apidly shifting market trends and global economic
pressures have forced companies to constantly stay on their
toes and push forward with new technology to ensure their
survival. To foster a culture of innovation, ICT education
and training have become crucial in helping employees hone
their skills and knowledge base to achieve strategic objectives.
And, in a dynamic work environment where professionals
need to deal with multi-faceted issues, only the best of breed,
uptodate and finest ICT training can equip them with the know-
how to tackle complicated challenges. Singapore based, GICT
Training & Certification—a pioneer in offering open source
technology-based (and vendor-neutral) certification programs—
trains and equips ICT professionals, corporations and graduate
students from leading institutions in Singapore with the
industry’s latest ICT technologies. GICT trains and transfers
technical expertise to its clients in 4 leading areas of technology:
AI/Machine Learning, Big Data/Data Science, Cloud Computing
and IoT.
“There is a growing and insatiable global demand for ICT
professionals in four specific areas of technology. Our training and
certification programs are offered through Authorized Training
Providers (ATP) in the region,” says Dr. Anton Ravindran,
Founder and CEO of GICT Training and Certification.
Beginning with courses on cloud computing during the
company’s formation ten years ago, its educational curricula now
ventures deep into data science and—for the last five years—
IoT, AI and ML. Dr. Anton leverages decades of experience in
ICT, having worked for and with leading MNCs in early part
of his career and now as technopreneur leads a team of highly
skilled post graduate professionals in managing, curating and
delivering these certification programs. In Singapore, GICT
Training programs are mapped to the Skills Framework (SF)
and funded by Info Comm and Media Development Authority
(IMDA - CITREP+). GICT programs are offered in the region
through its ATP networks in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines,
Oman, India, Jordan, Uganda amongst others.
“For employers, our digital badges make it easy to identify
individuals with top-notch skills, and companies can verify
whether those skills are compatible for their needs, relevant and
up-to-date,” adds Dr. Anton. Staying abreast with technological
developments, GICT’s team transfers knowledge and expertise
to its clients by applying and implementing these skills in a real-
life scenario. This is critical as ICT and technology has a very
short shelf life, and enterprises need to acquire technical know-
how speedily and incessantly.
Dr. Anton has also ventured into the legaltech industry by
leveraging from AI and Data Science under the banner of his
other company—SmartLaw Pte Ltd. This company is focused
on and has developed leading edge solutions that assist lawyers
and clients in reviewing and analyzing contracts as well as in
predicting sentencing outcomes of complex litigious matters
in just a few minutes. The solution uses NLP to read hundreds
of pages of contracts and legal documents in split seconds; as
a result of which, legal professionals can save significant legal
resources and achieve cost savings for clients.
Additionally, in fields of legal practice such as divorce,
criminal offences, and medical negligence, SmartLaw uses
its trained neural brain to help lawyers predict verdicts and
evaluate the relevance of previous precedents in order to mount
a successful claim or defence. In so doing, SmartLaw hopes
to democratize and provide broader access to legal services by
using its user-intuitive and AI based solutions.
Moving both companies forward with a two-pronged
approach, Dr. Anton discusses how the organizations are poised
to expand in the near future. “For GICT, we plan to work with
new partners in the region and provide our training programs
in their locale. Our second step of growth involves increasing
the delivery of online training,” he adds. For SmartLaw, we
will continue to add additional disciplines and jurisdictions for
the Predictor function while we will continue to add additional
functionalities for the Smartlaw’s Smart Contract Review and
Analysis feature for the nearer term, he said.
