An amateur cyclist who was prescribed banned performance enhancing drugs by Dr. Mark Bonar warned that doping is endemic in cycling. The cyclist, Dan Stevens, testified before a parliamentary committee that doping has become more sophisticated in elite cycling and other doctors like Bonar are enabling it. Stevens also said that doping starts before athletes' careers, with easy online access to information promoting banned substances even at local gyms.
