COMPOUND ADJECTIVES
She is a girl with blue eyes.
       SHE IS A BLUE-EYED GIRL.

She is a girl with curly hair.
     SHE IS A CURLY-HAIRED GIRL.
COMPARATIVES

• one-syllable adjectives: near                          Add –er + than
         La Bella Napoli is nearer than Pietro’s.



• adjective ends in –e: nice                             Add –r + than
         The waiter at La Bella Napoli is nicer than the waiter at
         Pietro’s.

                                                          Change –y for –i and add –
• adjective ends in –y: tasty                             er + than

         The pizzas at La Bella Napoli are tastier than at Pietro’s.


• one-syllable adjectives ending in                        Double the consonant and
  vowel + consonant: big                                   add –er + than

         The pizzas at La Bella Napoli are bigger than at St. Pietro’s.
COMPARATIVES



•   two or more syllabes adjectives: exciting             more + adjective + than

                   Football is more exciting than golf.

SUPERLATIVES

• adjective ends in –y                            Change –y for –i and add the
                                                  adj–est
               This is the crispiest base ever.
