• Until recently cancer has not been enough
represented in the global health and development
agendas
• UICC is the leading voice of the cancer
community and undertakes advocacy on behalf of
its members at the highest levels
• UICC played a key role in :
• Securing the “25% by 2025” target (2011)
• Obtained global targets, action and indicators
for cancer reduction in the Global Action Plan
and in the Global Monitoring Framework for
NCD’s (2013)
• Securing the adoption of a groundbreaking
resolution on palliative care (2014)
