2. Click once for a few good reasons why I am a good candidate for your open position: I have 30 years of experience being an Executive Administrative Assistant. I have intermediate to advanced skills with all Microsoft Office 2003/2007 software products. I am a focused, self starting, self directed professional dedicated to providing quality skills and services to any organization I am associated with. I am a flexible, open minded easy going team player who is not afraid to get the job done right, the first time. I love working with people, trying new things and I am great at multi-tasking.
3. About My Work Experience Even though I was a Senior I.T. Help Desk Administrator at Hynix, I was originally hired as a Senior Administrative Assistant to the Director of Process and Equipment Engineering. My job began while the fab and administration buildings were still under construction. Because I was with Hynix from the very beginning I helped established much of their administrative infrastructure. I developed many of the administrative forms used by engineering, developed handbooks, developed reporting systems in SAP, and wrote many of the technical specifications used by general administration.
4. My Work Experience Cont’d In 2001 I was invited to join the Information Technology department at Hynix. At the time the department was disorganized, help desk calls were not being completed in a timely manner, their web was not being updated properly and they were having problems with low customer service satisfaction. Providing excellent customer service, updating their web presence and increasing I.T. Help Desk efficiency were my key priorities. I was successful in all areas and was richly rewarded for my efforts.
5. Following is a little personal information about me and my family: I was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon. I have been married for 19 years, I have a grown daughter who is a psychologist and lives in Astoria, Oregon with my two grand daughters. I own three very spoiled hard to please Border Collies. For the past twelve years I was working for Hynix Semiconductor Manufacturing America, Inc. Hynix was the 10th largest DRAM manufacturer in the world and was Lane County’s largest employer until 2008. Hynix closed their doors in September 2008 and laid off 1,400 people including myself. I love to fish and go hiking. I lam experienced at beading and making my own jewelry and I love to crochet.
6. So what have I been doing since 2008? I decided to return to school. I was never able to attend school as a young adult due to economic circumstances. Because Hynix had closed their doors and shipped our jobs overseas, everyone who had been employed at Hynix qualified for a free college education, all expenses paid. I considered this an opportunity of a lifetime and enrolled at Pioneer Pacific College in their Computer Network Technology program. I graduated on May 3, 2010 with an Associates of Applied Science.
7. The College Experience College was an invigorating experience. I learned many new skills but beyond that, I learned: How to think outside the box - As much as I know, there are always new and more provocative ways to comprehend social issues and events. I am smarter than I thought - Striving to be successfull in a career and at home is sometimes hard to gauge because there are no report cards to measure performance. Graduating with a 3.6 average out of a possible 4.0 was very rewarding to me personally.
8. The Bottom Line I am very good at what I do and given the chance, I will do an excellent job for you. I appreciate you considering me for this position and I thank you for your time. Have a great day!
