Furniture Industry Context
The IMAGINE Platform will be demonstrated in the context of the Furniture Industry.
End-to-End management of an ad-hoc Dynamic Manufacturing Network emerging from a
spontaneous business opportunity.
The IMAGINE platform will facilitate the process in order to:
• Search for new suppliers
• Simulate process in different scenarios
• Automate communication and data exchange
• Provide order tracking and monitoring transparently to companies in real time.
5. 5
i_Platform customization through
communication adapters
Companies connect to IMAGINE Platform using adapters:
1. Companies systems’ exchange information with IMAGINE
Platform by using the adapters.
2. Companies systems’ can identify information updates and
potential problems that can occur.

The manufacturer has to look for partners that manufacture all parts
of this chair model (145) that he is not able to manufacture: textile,
crystal logo and aluminium legs. He only is able to produce the
wooden back.
8. Production Requirements
Composer
The manufacturer needs i_Platform in order to manufacture the chairs using a DMN.
The Technical Office department of the company SeattingDesign develops in their legacy
systems the design and cost breakdown of the exclusive chair for the customer request.

9. Production Requirements
Composer
• High level DMN Product description is given by DMN
Manager to the editor in “Production Requirements
Blueprint” format.
• Production Requirements Blueprint describe the product,
subassemblies, processes, materials, skills and equipment
needed as well as related quantities, due dates and
standards.
• The description can be created in a browser using
Production Requirements Composer.
• Production Requirements Blueprint can also be directly
submitted to IMAGINE Blueprint Repository via the
IMAGINE ESB.

13. Partner Search
• Partner Search Component utilizes the Production
Requirements Blueprints plus additional criteria entered
by the DMN Manager to create Long Lists and Short Lists.
• Partner Long Lists are a first set of potential DMN
suppliers based on static information.
• Partners Short Lists are fine tuned selection of potential
DMN suppliers based on dynamic information.
• Partner Search Component submits Long Lists and Short
Lists to IMAGINE Blueprint Repository.
• Long Lists and Short Lists can also be directly submitted to
IMAGINE Blueprint Repository via the IMAGINE ESB.

17. DMN Evaluation & Final Selection
• DMN Evaluation & Final Selection dynamically creates and
evaluates potential DMN Configurations from Partner
Short Lists and Production Requirements Blueprints
• Potential DMN Evaluation is done based on dynamic
information and different execution scenarios. DMN
Manager can select a configuration based on different
criteria.
• Product Blueprints captures the Product details based on
the selected DMN Configuration.
• DMN Evaluation and Final Configuration component
submits Product Blueprint to IMAGINE Blueprint
Repository.
• Product Blueprint can also be directly submitted to

21. DMN Design
• The DMN is designed and orchestrated.
• DMN production details are provided.
• DMN Product Quality Assurance is ensured by defining
appropriate KPI thresholds.
• The IMAGINE End-To-End Blueprint contains all the
information needed to execute and deploy a DMN.
• DMN Design Toolset Creates and submits the End-To-End
Blueprint to IMAGINE Blueprint Repository.
• End-To-End Blueprint can also be directly submitted to
IMAGINE Blueprint Repository via the IMAGINE ESB.
• DMN Design prepares the Production Repository for the
execution of the DMN.

25. DMN Execution Management &
Monitoring
• The DMN Execution Management & Monitoring are
responsible for sending automated notification to
Suppliers and DMN Manager.
• The IMAGINE KPI Log and Monitoring collects DMN
production details, such as metrics and KPIs, in real time
by supplier systems and compares them against defined
thresholds.
• The IMAGINE DMN Dashboard provides a comprehensive
overview for the status of a running DMN. Notifications
are send in case of need.
• DMN Troubleshooter helps DMN Manager to pinpoint the
exact cause of a problem.
• The Production repository holds the production related
information of a DMN that is created in execution time.

with the following ways.
• Helps a DMN manager to discover and identify irregularities in
the ongoing manufacturing process.
• Allows the DMN Manager to monitor specific and customized
aspects based on his/her interest.
• Notifies the DMN Manager when custom conditions are met.
• Supports adaptable and adaptive visualizations for a human-centered
visual interaction with the complex DMN processes
• Provides integration and extension mechanisms that allow other
systems to leverage the provided functionalities.
28. IMAGINE Advanced Monitoring
IMAGINE Platform supports pattern matching, event
monitoring, and real time analytics that can be used by a
wide spectrum of systems:
• Browser based applications
• Mobile phone applications
• WS-Integrated systems
29. IMAGINE Advanced Monitoring
• Pattern manager android application can be connected to different IMAGINE
Platform instances.
• Pattern nodes can be created and attributes can be added to them.
