Client demand for digital risk solutions is rapidly increasing, and as a result we have decided to
respond strategically and practically by delivering world class solutions with exceptional third-party
partners at scale.
3. The Problem
Training
• Providing adequate training is a requirement of all our clients.
• Training is an embedded part of any risk management solution and is critical for
ensuring risk is mitigated where at all possible.
• Ensuring effective and standardised training is delivered to the entire workforce is
becoming increasingly difficult and expensive owing to high rates of attrition,
changing legislation, and increasing pressure on businesses to reduce costs.
– Training is rarely up to date with new standards and legislation.
– A high rate of attrition of employees, means training is constantly being delivered
by senior workers taking time away from their working day.
– Only 10% of knowledge learned in a classroom is retained.
– Annual spend on learning and development is £300 per worker/per annum.
– Modern attention spans are lower, our brains are better at consuming short
bursts of information.
80%
Of the global
workers are
deskless*
How do we ensure that
they are getting
appropriate training?
We are in the biggest period of change of working environments due to
COVID-19. We need businesses to adapt and doing nothing is the biggest
competitor.
Why training is a problem:

4. Insurance Implications
Insurers are looking closer at the risks they underwrite and being more selective in transitioning market we are currently experiencing. We need
to be confident that our clients’ risk management activity is effective in order to give the insurer confidence in the risks being underwritten. Risk
management activity can be highly connected to the use of training and therefore may have a direct impact on how businesses will be seen by
existing and future carriers.
The adoption of a digital training platform and the associated data generated by front line users enables Marsh to:
4
How can training be adapted in this changing world and what impact does this have on insurance?
Demonstrate the effort
placed on protecting
clients’ assets, people,
and business, and meet
compliance needs of
the business.
Present clients’ risk in
the right way through
clear understanding of
clients’ internal risk
management activity.
Show that clients are
meeting their legal duty
to employees by
providing adequate
training and
supervision.
Show a better
understanding of
hazards experienced
within businesses and
effective courses to
help mitigate them.
Improve overall risk
exposure and support
clients’ claims
experience including
the ability to defend
against them.
Fully applicable to all clients (sector agnostic and ubiquitous)

Mobile first platform
Editable content library
Built in analytics and dashboards AI translation
Built in Gamification
Not only allows custom notifications to reach global
learners but artificial intelligence (AI) will also send
learners automated reminders at intervals where
they are most likely to be successful. Clients can
also group different training cohorts within one
organisation, to push out relevant training material to
the appropriate group.
Seamlessly integrated into EdApp’s templates, built-in
gamification provides motivation where audiences require
external incentive for motivation. Perfect for large retail and
other industries where casual workforces dominate. Leader
boards are also available.
A translation engine within EdApp enables global organisations
to deploy courseware in multiple languages at scale. Combined
with rapid authoring, courseware can be translated and
distributed in dozens of languages in moments.
An exceptional content library with over a 1000
courses. All courses have been developed to be fun
and engaging for frontline workers. Most of the
library is fully adaptable to meet the needs of
individual learning content.
Test learners' knowledge through a range of assessment
templates. Use post-lesson to assess knowledge gains.
Use minimum scoring and prerequisites to control
progress until key messages are retained.
