Mrs. Juma was hired by the CHUM (Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal) / BPYA to
work on (the Super Hospital Project) as a compliance architect, working for the CHUM
Architects and Consortium BPYA as a specialized architect in healthcare facility planning.
The CHUM new hospital is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, and is designed to be
constructed in three main phases. Phase One is scheduled to welcome patient in 2016, and
the last phase is scheduled to finish in 2019. The project area is 268000 square meter; contains
772 beds in single rooms distributed among 26 specialized inpatient units, and a complete
ambulatory center (32 specialized clinics). Specialized diagnostic and treatment services and
support teaching and logistical services.
Mrs. Juma has specifically worked on the following clinical department to help the client in
verifying the project Co submittal documents alongside the output specifications, and the CHUM
standards, norms and guidelines for health facility planning and design by:
attending user group meetings with Project Co;
participating in the planning analysis for each department with the client in the
preparation sessions before meeting with Project Co;
provided CHUM client with samples (benchmark of similar projects ), latest technology
trends;

contributed in preparing Templates for CHUM users to evaluate and review the mock-
ups rooms with the CHUM Planning Management Team.
Mrs. Juma specificly worked on the following departments on the New CHUM Project:
1. Department of Diagnostic Imaging (6 MRI, 5 CT, 7 Angiography, Mammography and
Ultrasound).
2. Nuclear- Medicine (3 PET scanner and 4 SPECT-CT).
3. Cancer Center with 12 linear Accelerators.
4. Cath-Labs and Electrophysiology Interventional Department.
5. Interventional Endoscopy Department.
6. Specialized clinical labs with robotic chains, pathology, microbiology (5000 square
meter).
7. Main pharmacy with latest technology and robotic chains, also four satellite
pharmacies located at the (Emergency Department, Chemotherapy Clinic, Intensive
Care Unit, and Operating Department).
