The Craft of Glass Blowing
1. utf8_encode(The Craft of Glass Blowing)
Since ancient Egypt, the art of glass craft has been kept alive by a few artisans living and working
around the world. There are however one or two still willing to teach this rapidly disappearing craft
to those who are keen to learn. Master Robert Shield is one such craftsman! Now resident in the
entertainment capitol of the world, Las Vegas Nevada, Robert has just announced the opening of his
Studio Royal International Academy of Glass Blowing. Located at 4375 E. Sahara Ave, Suite 34, Las
Vegas NV 89121; it is centrally located for most residential districts and just east of the world
famous strip. Robert visited the USA from his then residence of Australia in the early 90's and spent
a few months teaching at this very same location! Since that time he has demonstrated his craft and
unique skills around the world including China, Spain, Ireland, England, Malta and Australia. Master
Robert has produced spun glass pieces for such celebrities as the British Royal Family, The British
Ambassador to Malta, and several local Las Vegas stars both past and present. All Robert's students
are taught one on one, and classes are conducted in the early evening. The basic course lasts just
over 12 weeks and teaches the basic skills necessary to produce sale-able items of jewelry and solid
and spun glass artistic pieces. The cost is just under $1,000.00, which includes all materials and
personal tools, and students get to keep all the items they create. Students may choose to pay as
they go, using Studio Royals no interest payment plan. Master Robert also offers an Advanced class
that teaches the art of Glass Blowing, including small vases, port sippers, and Robert's signature
piece - beautiful hollow Swans! Students must have completed the Basic course before undertaking
the Advance level Open houses are planned where prospective students may attend a demonstration
and brief introduction, twice a month and anyone interested should ring and make an appointment
as seating is limited to 6 guests, and is by invitation only. Robert can be reached in Las Vegas at
