2. Logline
Carmen returns to her hometown after the death of
her mother. Her traumatic past and absent father
wait for her there. Her only comfort is in her mystical
protector, Nin.
3. Concept
After the death of her mother, Carmon goes to visit her home town
she left over ten years ago when she was only a child. Pain and
horrific memories still remain of the abuse and manipulation of the
people she once considered family.
Though apprehensive, the loss of her mother leaves her alone and
in need of financial help from her father. The only comfort she has
is that she will not be alone, her protective creature, Nin never
leaves her side in times of needs and has looked out for her since
childhood.
Her father, Lubayd, was once a kind and giving man but his alliance
to his family isolated him from his marriage and left him blind to
their lies and deceit.
Over her stay Carmen faces a family she despises, a father she
thought she hated and a world of abusive memories and
flashbacks. Nin can only do so much to shield her from the violent
and painful past.
Carmen and Lubayd lie to one another and hide their true feelings
but in the end with Nin’s guidance helps Lubayd begin to see his
family for who they are and realised the hurt that he has inflicted
on his daughter. The trip allows Carmon to remember more things
then ever before leading her to take action in reopening her case
against the family.
After a big confrontation with her father, on the first day of the
court case Lubayd rebels against his family embracing his child and
standing by her side.
