2. PengertianProduk
biayaUS$100.
Meja makan adalah 'pabrik' pertama Uli. Tempat dimana dia menciptakan alat music berkwalitas

It all started 25 years ago when I was studying classical piano and sound engineering. I made my
living by playing jazz in piano bars, hotels and coffee shops. Being an aspiring sound engineer, I
could only dream of owning studio equipment, which at the time was far too expensive for a cash-
strapped studentlikeme.TheuniversityIattendedhad onlytwomicrophones for100students!
It became clear that if I wanted to realize my dream of becoming a sound engineer, I would have to
getmyownequipment.
During my childhood my father taught me electronics and when I was 16, I built my first
synthesizer. Since I was already intrigued by electronics, it was only natural for me to look inside
the magical black boxes to see what made them tick. I quickly realized that companies were
charging $1000 or more for a piece of equipment, while the components inside were only worth
US$100!
So I immediately grabbed my soldering iron and went to work on my first signal processor. Word
spread quickly among friends that my products sounded really good. More importantly, I found out
that my friends were very much like me and couldn't afford to buy such expensive studio gear. I
started production on my kitchen table and sold what I made at ridiculously low prices. Without
evenrealizingit,IhadstartedBEHRINGER.

A product is anything that can be offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or,
consumption that might satisfy a want or need. It includes physical objects, services, persons,

yangmencakupbarangdanjasa.
One common response is that a product is “something we buy”. But it must be clear by now that
such answer is far from complete. Then, too, many people think of a product as being a tangible

kebutuhan', yaitu bagaimana Uli menciptakan alat musiknya sendiri. Dan juga ada proses
pemuasan kebutuhan. Rasa puas teman-teman Uli yang akhirnya berkembang menjadi rasa puas
seluruh pengguna produk Behringer.
terkenaldiindustrymusicdunia.
KlasifikasiProduk
Menurut Philip Kotler dan Gary Armstrong , berdasarkan penggunanya, produk dibagi menjadi
duabagianyaitu:produk konsumendanproduk industry.
mencakup:produk sehari-hari,produk belanja,produk khusus, danproduk yangtidakdicari.
Products and services fall into two broad classes based on the types of consumers that use them:
consumer productsand industrialproducts.(1)
Consumer products are products and services bought by final consumers for personal
consumption.Consumer productsincludeconvenienceproducts,shopping products,specialty

5. Unsought product are consumer products that the consumer either does not know about or knows
about but does not normally consider buying. Most major new innovations are unsought until the
consumer becomesawareofthemthrough advertising.
produk baru. Produk indutri secara garis besar dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu: material and parts,
capitalitems,dansuppliesandservices.
Industrialproductsarethosepurchasedfor furtherprocessingor for useinconductinga business.
Materials and parts are industrial goods that enter the manufacturer's product completely. They
fallintotwoclasses: raw materialsandmanufacturedmaterialsandparts
Capital items are industrial goods that enter the finished product in part. Includes installations
and accessoryequipment.
Suppliesand servicesareindustrialgoods thatdo notenterthefinishedproductatall.

Menurut Phili Kotler dan GaryArmstrong “Product can be classified into three groups according
to their durability or tangibility.”(1) Menurut ketahanannya produk dapat dibagi menjadi tiga
bagian.
banyaktempatdenganhargayangmurah.
Nondurable goods are tangible goods normally consumed in one or a few uses. Since these goods
are consumed fast and purchased often, the marketer wants to make them available in many

6. Services are activities, benefits, or satisfactions that are offered for sale. Services are intangible,
inseparable, variable, and perishable, they normally require more quality control, supplier
credibility,and adaptability.
seperti:barang, jasa,acara,pengalaman,orang, tempat,properti,organisasi, informasi.(1)

Uli akhirnya menciptakan synthesizer.
amplifiers, PA systems, signal processor, modeling and effect processor, stompbox and tuner,
microphone, headphone, MIDI controller, audio interface, recording software, music instrument,
danlightingsystem.
akanmemberikankepuasanpadakonsumen.Manfaatitubisaberupakwalitas,model,desain,

10. Shortly after I arrived in Dusseldorf I met and dated a beautiful girl who was also a great singer
(guess that did the job) and whose father was the general manager of one of the most famous
chocolatemanufacturers inGermany calledStorck.
His name was Otto Pahnke. We would walk around his factory and I noticed that he knew 2,000
employees by name. Everyone adored him as he truly cared for his people. He was a clear
marketing genius and every night at 7 pm the whole family had to sit down on the couch when he
would comment on TVads that were aired around that time. I got free marketing lessons and once I
decidedtostart mybusiness Inaturallyaskedhimforadvice.
I thought I was pretty smart when I came up with a name for my new company. I wanted to call it
"SAL" which stood for "Scientific Audio Lab". After I revealed my idea to Otto, he just shook his
head in disbelief, looked at me and said "do you believe in your business?" I answered "of course I
do" andhesaid "thenyourcompanyhas tocarry your name".
Afew weeks later I went back to see him and we went for our usual walk in the forest. I told him that
I wanted to call the company "BEHRINGER Professional Studio Equipment" as I thought it
sounded impressive. Otto looked at me, just shook his head again and said "professional? You are
a littlefart, you are a one-man show and you want to compete with the big boys?" He continued"no
way are you professional yet but I watched how you carefully listen to your products when fine-
tuning them. You have to call your company 'BEHRINGER Specialized Studio Equipment' and add
an earsymbolinyourlogosinceyoudesignyourequipmentbyearandnotonlybycoldspecs".
Otto Pahnke called in one of his graphic designers and said “draw this young man a stylized ear so
he can use it for his company logo”. I was now left with my name BEHRINGER, a drawing for a
technical ear and I tried to figure out how to combine them. The only way it would work was to
draw a triangle around those elements and that was the birth of the logo which until now is our
Company trademark.
'just listen'yangdiartikansebagaiproduk alatmusicyangmenghasilkansuarayangberkwalitas.
