This is the description of a collection of my selected artworks over the past 3 years. 1. Inspired by African folk art, this painting is one of my favorites. I used warm colors to set the feeling in Africa’s savanna. The women are clothed in gold fabric and ornamented with gold colored glass paint. The painting shows movement and unity as the women do hard labor. This painting has been exhibited at art shows. 2. This sgraffito painting of a statue of a dog was very fun to create. It is inspired by the band 5 Seconds of Summer and their guitarists’ and bassist’s equipment. This painting focuses on texture. 3. As a 9-year-old, I loved nature scenes. This painting shows several trees that merge as one as the branches intertwine. 4. This illustration portrays a close-up of ripe and unripe tomatoes. To experiment with lighting, I used a black background. 5. To experiment with watercolors, I painted a pumpkin with graduated colors. 6. To also study watercolors, I painted a baseball glove and ball that have aged. 7. This is the same baseball glove and ball but is a sketch instead of a painting. 8. I painted a copper teapot to experiment with light reflection on a shiny surface using watercolors. 9. As a trial, I sketched a teapot using pencil as its medium. 10. This drawing was hard because of the folds in the clothes and the teddy bear’s fuzzy texture. 11. This is one of my favorite sketches. I sketched a picture of a statue to study how to draw body parts. 12-14. These are a few sketches of hands and feet. I used a brush pen to practice proportions and lines.
