It has all the typical conventions of a
advertisement as it has the release date
(28th August)
The image on the advertisement is the
same image that is the cd cover, this use
of intertexuality allows the audience to
associate the two of them together, and
makes it easier to find the album that
they are looking for if they wish to buy it.
There is also reviews at the bottom from
NME and Uncut, this is a justification that
it is a good album and one that you
should buy.
3. The advertisement for The Killers album-
Day & Age, uses the same artwork as the cd
front cover. This again makes it easy to
associate the album that is new and to buy.
It says ‘Featuring the single human’ this use
of marketing, makes the album more
popular and commercial as more people
are likely to buy an album if it features a
song that they know and like.
There is a use of cross media convergence
at the bottom with the use of a link to the
website, this allows the reader to find out
more about the album on a different media
level.
4. This advertisement art is also the same to
the Rihanna- Rated R album.
The font used is also of the same
theme, and colours to the rest of the
artwork. Words in red are the names of
Rihanna’s new singles, this allows them to
stand out more and makes it more likely
that the album will be bought because of
these songs.
The advertisement also follows legal
requirements as it has a parental advisory
sign on to show that the album may have
explicit content.
