- The National Research Council is the Canadian Government’s largest R&D agency. NRC is a National organization located in several major centres from coast to coast. NRC has over 4,000 employees. We host over 1,200 guest and visiting workers.

- Key partnerships with research and educational institutions include the Public Health Agency of Canada, the ICID, St. Boniface General Hospital, IAM, the University of Manitoba (new Biomedical Engineering program established in 2007), the University of Winnipeg, and Red River College (Magnetic Resonance Technologists training program). - ICID is one of tenants occupying the fourth floor of our industrial partnership facility. In March 2009, ICID submitted its official application to the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative (CHVI) to fund the construction of an $88-million HIV vaccine manufacturing facility in Canada. It would be the only facility of its kind in the world. It is a joint project of the Government of Canada and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to build a dedicated facility to accelerate the production of promising candidates for a safe, affordable and effective HIV vaccine.
