changing political landscape
• Balancing between the interests of the stakeholders
• Do stakeholders have any say?
5. Clarity of establishment
instruments
• Principle-based vs detailed prescriptions
• How to deal with evolution of governance practices

• Who has the power, extend of those power and
accountability

• Basis of appointment, competent for the job?

funds and cause systemic risk to the financial system
• This requires highly effective risk management and
internal control within the applicable legal framework

• Must have clarity as to the reason being in the organisation
• Have clarity on the purpose and how to deliver the
mandate in the interest of the beneficiaries
• Able to navigate through the complexity surrounding the
entity
• Have the courage to do what is right based on the mandate
of the entity, even when there is no security of tenure
