1. Music Video – Concept Paper
“Friday Night” - McFly
The general description of the music video: Showing the general life of the artist. The tempo
has an upbeat, fun and party feel to it. Has a modern and fashionable look throughout but
includes a hybrid of various costumes by the characters e.g. every day and night clothing.
Here are a few rules I want to use in the music video:
1) It is a performance/concept based video.
2) Both a steady cam and will be used to follow the artist around showing their lifestyle
by day and then by night as well as a handheld camera.
3) There will be one main person in it that you will see throughout performing the song
as well as being involved in the narrative part of the video.
4) Extra will be needed for the party scenes to make it as realistic as possible.
5) The lighting throughout will be high key to add to the upbeat feel of the video.
6) We will have simple cuts and minimal effects to add to the realism of the video.
7) Series of shots of daily life (out with friends and parties).
8) Long shot of the artist’s surroundings.
9) Some shots will look like the main character is holding a handheld camera.
