Cosmetologists <ul><li>Shampoo, cut, dry, and style hair. </li></ul><ul><li>Straighten hair or give permanents, bleach, tint, and frost to change its color. </li></ul><ul><li>Helpful high school courses: would include Algebra, Entrepreneurship, and Health and Fitness. </li></ul><ul><li>Possible university majors: Employers prefer to hire individuals who have graduated from a cosmetology or hairstyling program at a technical college or private school of cosmetology Individuals interested in an apprenticeship must have a high school diploma, pass an aptitude test. </li></ul>

Nail Technicians <ul><li>Give manicures and apply decorative finishes to nails </li></ul><ul><li>Remove all finishes and extenders before soaking the fingertips </li></ul><ul><li>Helpful high school courses: Would include Accounting, Advertising and Promotion, Business and Personal Finance, Business and Personal Law, and Entrepreneurship. </li></ul><ul><li>Possible university majors: Nail technicians graduate from a manicure program offered at private beauty colleges and technical schools that emphasize nail art. Most states require that nail technicians successfully pass an examination before they are licensed to work in that state. </li></ul>
