Natural Fast Food Chain Danku Promotes Eco-Friendly Practices

2. “ It’s Naturalicious! ® ” Owners, Filip and Bruno Van Hoeck and Karen Brink, live in Holland. The first Danku was first created in Belgium, and this is the first location in the United States. It is a family business thats main goal is to be eco-friendly. Danku hires local people from all over New York. Every employee is trained in food safety education and is taught the importance of the environment and sustainability. Danku often buys food from local venders or green markets. They purchase food in season, such as the berries for the frozen yogurts. They support the organization Great Harvest, often donating bread products they don’t use. And they plan to sponsor Earth Week fundraisers next year, such as a bike race!

4. Danku has a recycling system, separating bottles and cans, food, PLA, and compostables, and other trash. They work with an organization called Action Carting, which is a leading provider of solid waste collection and environmental services. They offer an organic composting system. They purchase non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals and cleaning supplies. No bleach is used.
