Sean KingstonCompatibility to my own Song The Epic record group does have the big names which I believe that my artist is similar to, and I do think that the nature of Epic records with discovering new artists on the web could work well if my artist is a new artist being signed. Epic Records is an American record label, owned by Sony Music Entertainment. Epic Records is part of a partnership, making the Columbia/Epic label group. Though Epic Records used to be a Jazz, Pop and Classical label, it now has expanded to other genres. Epic Records also have began to sign artists discovered on the web such as Karmin, who were discovered through YouTube. My Own Observations From what I can see from the large amount of artists signed with epic, as well as the vast variety of mainstream/chart artists and musicians, the record label is definitely a popular label.

Emily KingCompatibility to my own Song The style of artists that J Records is perfect, however the size of the company may not be a good match as I can imagine my artist being quite a big artist such as Rhianna/Beyonce/Jennifer Lopez. J Records is an American record label, also owned and operated by Sony Music Entertainments and is distributed through RCA Music Group. J Records is a fairly new record company establishing in 2000, and only have roughly 20 artists signed to the label. The Artists all seem to have the genre of RnB/Hiphop in common. Although there are few artists signed to the label, they are quite big artists such as Leona Lewis and Alicia Keys. My Own Observations From the distinctive style of artist that J Records signs, they are clearly targeting a mass audience by choosing the RnB genre which is a major chart topping genre at the moment.
27. Sean PaulAtlantic Records is an American record label best known for its RnB, Rock and roll, and Jazz artists. Atlantic earned the reputation of one of the most important American independent recording labels specializing in Jazz and RnB recordings. Atlantic Records is also part of the Warner music group. Compatibility to my own Song The music label is well known for dealing with RnB styled music and different artists, and the scale of the record label is a similar size, but although there are RnB artists, there are none which are very like my own. My Own Observations My own observations of this record label is that is completely rivals to the Sony music entertainment labels as Warner Brothers and Sony are two of the biggest media companies going.
28. Island Records Compatibility to my own Song The record label of Island has a mass RnB contemporary artist list, however their main focus does lie with rock styled bands and artists. I do like Island records as it does seem a good solid record company, but due to their preferences, I think its not the best. Island Record’s Parent company is Universal Music group. This is another massive media company within the media sector. It was based in the United Kingdom for many years and is now owned by Universal Music Group. It’s main focus is Rock style artists, however the large scale of the record label allows RnB artists to be signed as well. This to me says that the company would be very good as my artist is very similar to Beyonce.
