• Totalitarianism governments
aims to control every aspect of
the lives of its people. Whether
it be social, economic, political
or cultural they want to control
it. The government consists of
one leader, one party, and one
ideology. They want to conquer
and control the minds and
hearts of their subjects. The
achieve their ideas through
propaganda.
3. Fascism
• Fascism is a political
philosophy that glorifies the
state above the individual by
emphasizing the need for a
strong central government led
by a dictatorial ruler
• Fascism is catered towards
wealthy business people and
Communism tries to make
everyone the same
4. Communism
• Stalin used the Great Purge to
murder and kill anyone he
thought was an enemy of the
state. To obtain a true
communist state Stalin used
collectivization to collect all of
the private property. Stalin
exiled Trotsky the only person
standing in his way to be a
dictator. As dictator he used 5
year plans as economic goals
to force the USSR into an
industrialized society.
5. Hitler
• Hitler was imprisoned after the
Beer Hall Putsch. While in
prison Hitler published his
autobiography called Mein
Kampf, aka My Struggle.
Hitler’s personal guard was
called the SS or Brownshirts.
The Nazi’s became the leading
party after the Reichstag Fire.
Hitler first came to power as a
Chancellor by the President.
Once the President died Hitler
made himself dictator!
6. Mao led a revolution
from the working
class of peasants. He
started a Cultural
Revolution using the
students, to try and
capture the glory
days of the
revolution.The Great
Leap Forward was
Mao's bad plan that
decided the nation
could be psyched up
about industrialism.
He required every
person to carry his
little red book and
China became
famous for it.

7. Reflection
• It would be bad to live in a
totalitarianism government
because you are forced into an
ideology and have no voice
under the dictator. Even More
so you live in a world of fear!
• Communism started out pure
but became something so
horrible because of corruption
and greed. This led power
hungry people to gain ultimate
control over a people who are
in a sense all the “same.”
