The home was designed and constructed by a Commercial Contractor /Associate Architect with
many years of experience with Commercial Green Building Construction. Many of the ideas, design
details, and recycled building materials utilized during construction make this home truly
unique.
A few examples are the first floor slab acts as a passive solar heat collector and it glistens with
broken wine bottles recycled from the Charleston recycle center. The glass has been crushed and
pressed into the concrete, ground, then sealed. Also the steel members used to support the structure
were constructed with recycled materials to minimize the impact on the environment.
