Program
Requirements:
• Must have completed/ tested
out of German 102 before
departure.
• Have at least 2.0 GPR and in
good standing with the
university
• Attend pre-departure
meetings
• Instructor approval
-German 321 German Culture
and Civ I (3 credits) AND
-German 322 German Culture
and Civ II (3 credits)
Prereq is German completion of
202 or equivalent
German 221 German Field
Studies I (3 credits) AND
German 222 German Field
Studies II (3 credits)
Equivalent to 201/202 OR
202/ 300-level course, if you
complete 201 before departure
Prereq is German completion of
102 or equivalent

3. We travel within Bonn and to
Cologne, Aachen, Düsseldorf,
Frankfurt, Mainz, Trier, to the
site of a WWII battlefield
(Hürtgenwald), to Weimar,
(where also see the
concentration camp
Buchenwald), Dresden, and
Berlin.
These excursions are covered
with your program fee.

You will get 6 credits of German
for these two courses.
You may extend your stay to do
an internship for an additional 3
credits. If you choose this, you
will stay with your same host
family and work in the
Bonn/Köln area.
Students have worked in the
fields of business, military,
fashion, cinema, culture
programming, graphic design,
environmental policy, and
politics.
The two German courses are in
Summer I and the optional
internship extension is in
Summer II.

The College of Liberal Arts has
a study abroad fellowship of
$1,000 for 5 week programs and
$2,000 for 10 week programs
