Otto Frank was the sole survivor of his family from the Holocaust, dying in 1980 at age 91 in Switzerland. The others who hid with the Frank family in the Secret Annex all died in Nazi concentration camps between 1944-1945, with Margot and Anne Frank both dying of typhus at Bergen-Belsen camp in March 1945. Edith Frank died of starvation at Auschwitz, while the others such as Mr. and Mrs. Van Pels and Fritz Pfeffer died from causes like gassing, starvation or disease.
