BSE Sensex 20,499 20,561 (0.30) INDIA
NSE Nifty 6,146 6,158 (0.19) After starting in the green for the second straight day, the Indian markets were unable to carry on the
BSE Midcap 7,853 7,873 (0.25) momentum through the day, with the NSE Nifty and the BSE Sensex ending with marginal losses.
BSE Smallcap 9,841 9,845 (0.04) Sustained weakness in the banking stocks offset gains in FMCG and Oil & Gas shares. Realty and Auto
Nifty Junior 12,205 12,261 (0.46) stocks were also down today. Banking stocks were badly beaten down after being in momentum. Stocks
CNX Midcap 8,900 8,919 (0.21) like SBI, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were among the major laggards. Later, in the afternoon trades, the
Sensex finally broke into the green as Reliace moved ahead and Infosys registered a new all time high.
Even the Mid-Cap and the Small-Cap stocks were under pressure while the market breadth was neutral.
The key benchmark index, Sensex lost 0.30% to end at 20,499 and the Nifty shed 12 points at 6,146. In
