The document provides instructions for setting up artwork for spot UV business cards in 5 steps: 1) Set the business card size at 85x55mm with 3mm bleed; 2) Supply a 4 page PDF with pages for front/back artwork and spot UV areas; 3) Set spot UV artwork in 100% black; 4) Export the PDF with crop marks and bleed settings; 5) Order spot UV business cards from the website to be printed, laminated, and have UV varnish applied in the specified areas.
2. Before starting we recommend
the following:
Use Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator to create artwork
Embed or Outline any fonts in your artwork to avoid issues
All images to be set at 300dpi
Avoid trying to UV Varnish over intricate hairlines
Try not to UV Varnish over small text, nothing below 10pt
3. Step 1:
We require your business card
to be set at the following size
85 x 55mm and add 3mm “bleed”
edge to all sides (this will be cut
off in production but ensures any
background colour is printed right
to the edge of the card)
Once happy, the artwork which
is to be printed now requires
you to create the spot uv part
of the card.

When supplying Spot UV Cards
to FullColourCards we need
your PDF to contain 4 pages.
Page 1 (front) & Page 2 (back) are
to be the artwork you want us to
print onto the card itself.

exactly align with wording or images
that is being printed.
We require the UV artwork to be
set in 100% Black (k). When creating
the artwork please check that there
are no other colour values in the
UV sections.

Once the artwork is set up
it’s time to export it as a PDF.
Please ensure when you export
your file as PDF you select
“Crop Marks” and
“Use Document Bleed Settings”.
