Start By:
a. Remove the ejector blade floor rollers . Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Ejector Blade
Floor Rollers - Remove".
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the
component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal
mechanism.
Note: The following procedure is for the removal of one of the four ejector blade pitch rollers.
Use the same procedure to remove the remaining three ejector blade pitch rollers.
1. Lower the ejector blade onto the floor of the truck body.

2. Loosen bolts (1) from outer lock ring (2). Note the location of the threaded holes in outer
lock ring (2).
Note: Washers are installed with three of bolts (1). The washers indicate the location of the
threaded holes in the outer lock ring which are used in the next step.
3. Install Tooling (A) into the three threaded holes in outer lock ring (2). Use Tooling (A) in
order to remove outer lock ring (2) from carriage (3).

4. Remove inner split ring (4) from boss (5).
5. Remove outer split ring (6) from carriage (3).
6. Remove inner lock ring (7) from carriage (3).
7. Remove bolts (8) and plate (9) from boss (5).

8. Remove boss (5) from carriage (3).
9. Remove roller assembly (10) from carriage (3).

Start By:
a. Remove the roller assembly (pitch). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Ejector Blade
Pitch Rollers - Remove".

1. Place the roller assembly in a suitable bench vise and remove eight bolts (1) from retainer
(2).
2. Use a suitable pin punch in order to remove lip seal (3) from retainer (2).
3. From the underside of roller (5), push shaft (4) upward until the rollers in bearing (6) are
halfway out of the roller. Install a suitable rubber band around the bearing rollers. This will
hold the bearing rollers in position on the shaft. Continue to push the shaft out of the roller
until the second set of rollers on bearing (6) are halfway out of the roller. As described
above, install a rubber band .
4. Carefully remove shaft (6) from roller (5). Remove the rollers from bearing (6) and spacer
(7).

5. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to remove wear sleeve (8) and bearing race
(6).
6. Use a suitable pin punch and remove lip seal (9) from roller (5).

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned
in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts.
Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are
worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

1. Use Tooling (B) in order to install lip seal (9) into roller (5).
2. Install bearing race (6) onto shaft (5). Raise the temperature of wear sleeve (8). Do not
exceed 135 °C (275 °F). Use Tooling (C) in order to check the temperature of the wear
sleeve.
3. After wear sleeve (8) has reached a uniform temperature, use a suitable driver in order to
seat wear sleeve (8).

4. Install a suitable rubber band around bearing (6). Use a seal pick in order to pull the rubber
band outward before installing the bearing rollers between the rubber band and the bearing
race. The rubber band will hold the bearing roller in place. Use a second rubber band to
install the second set of bearing rollers onto the bearing race.
5. Position shaft (4) over roller (5). Lower the shaft until the first set of bearing rollers of
bearing (6) are halfway into roller (5). Use a seal pick in order to remove the rubber band.
Continue to lower shaft (4) until the second set of rollers are halfway into roller (5) before
removing the second rubber band. Continue to lower shaft (4) into position.
6. Install spacer (7) into roller (5).

7. Use Tooling (B) in order to install lip seal (3) into retainer (2).
8. Install retainer (2) and eight bolts (1).
End By:
a. Install the ejector blade pitch roller. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Ejector Blade
Pitch Rollers - Install".

Note: The following procedure is for the installation of one of the four ejector blade pitch rollers.
Use the same procedure to install the remaining three ejector blade pitch rollers.
1. Install roller assembly (10) into carriage (3).

2. Install boss (5) into carriage (3) and onto roller assembly (10).
3. Install plate (9) and bolts (8) onto boss (5).
4. Install inner lock ring (7) into carriage (3).

5. Install outer split ring (6) into carriage (3).
6. Install inner split ring (4) into boss (5).
7. Install outer lock ring (2) into carriage (3).

8. Align lock ring (2) and install bolts (1). Do not tighten bolts (1) at this time. Refer to
Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Ejector Blade Alignment - Check/Adjust".
9. Raise the ejector blade from the floor of the truck body.
End By:
a. Install the ejector blade floor rollers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Ejector Blade
Floor Rollers - Install".

Removal Procedure

1. Start the engine. Position the ejector blade halfway along the truck body. Ensure that there
is adequate space for access to the ejector rollers. Refer to Illustration 1. Turn off the engine
and turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. Loosen nut (2) on bolt (1) in order to turn bolt (1). Repeat Step 2 for bolt (1) on the opposite
side of the ejector blade.
3. Turn bolts (1) on both sides of the ejector blade equally until ejector rollers (3) are not in
contact with the truck body. Use a feeler gauge in order to verify that ejector rollers (3) on
both sides of the ejector blade are not in contact with the truck body.
4. Remove bolts (4). Repeat Step 4 for the opposite side of the ejector blade. Remove shims
(5) and note the position of the shims for installation purposes.

5. Carefully pull the assembly of ejector rollers (3) and reaction plate (7) away from the ejector
blade. Remove shims (6) and note the position of the shims for installation purposes.
6. Use a suitable lifting device in order to remove the assembly of ejector rollers (3) and
reaction plate (7) from the machine. The weight of the assembly is approximately 90 kg
(200 lb).
7. Remove bolts (9) and remove adapter plate (8) from both ends of reaction plate (7).
8. Remove bolts (10) from both ends of reaction plate (7).

9. Remove block (11) and remove ejector rollers (3) from both ends of reaction plate (7). The
weight of one ejector roller (3) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).
