This book centers around a French Prophet of the 16th Century, Nostradamus, and his famous
prophecy known as Century III, Quatrain 81. This book is structured into 8 sections.
The first section provides a brief overview of the biographical narrative of Nostradamus. It offers
analytical context of his publication titled ‘Centuries’. This section briefly explores five Quatrains,
including Century I, 40; Century III, 50 and Century III, 81. Many public commentators link Century
III, 81 to the anointing of Donald Trump to office of President of the United States of America on
January 20, 2017. Part Two provides a brief biography of President Trump.
Part Three explores text analysis tools for those who analyze historical documentary sources.
Scholars who translate 16th Century French into contemporary English use these methods.
Part 4 explores the first four adjectives of Century III, Quatrain 81: Great, Shameless, Audacious
and Bawler. Discussion identifies whether President Trump’s personal and professional records
match these descriptors. The next three sections explore five aspects of this Quatrain in the same
vein. These topics are ‘elected’, ‘Army Governor’, ‘boldness’, ‘broken bridge’ and a ‘city of fear’.
The final section of this book summarizes discussion from the opening seven parts of this book.

Quatrain Century III, 81
French and English versions

The text of this English language version of Quatrain Century III, 81 is verbatim to those published
by most print and online sources that cite this poem. This version above is cited verbatim more
than other minor variants that exist in other publications that capture this prophecy.

Prophecy
According to Roget’s Thesaurus (2013), the following words are synonymous with prophecy:
The Random House Dictionary (2019), define the noun ‘prophecy’ verbatim:
1. The foretelling or prediction of what is to come.
2. Something that is declared by a prophet, especially a divinely inspired prediction,
instruction, or exhortation.
3. A divinely inspired utterance or revelation: oracular prophecies.
4. The action, function, or faculty of a prophet.
Bible prophecy from the Old Testament and New Testament are ancient examples of scribed text
that offer futuristic predictions about events of concern to humankind. Prophecy may offer
messages that are positive, negative or neutral in the minds of the reader.
A person who delivers a prophecy is known as a Prophet. Prophetess Deborah is an example from
the Old Testament. Her name and deeds appear in the Book of Judges.

Prophet
Details of the life of Frenchman Michel de Nostredame, commonly known as ‘Nostradamus’ are
sketchy and contradictory, partially because he was born more than 500 years ago. According to
numerous accounts, he was born some time in December 1503 of the Julian calendar in the Saint-
Rémy-de-Provence of France. He died some time in the month of July in 1566 in the same region.
Nostradamus was a prolific researcher and writer. Numerous nouns have been attributed to his
writings. These include titles such as prophet, astrologer, astronomer, philosopher, writer,
translator, assistant physician and researcher. These job titles are not mutually exclusive.
Nostradamus’s arch legacy is his prolific voluminous writings that numerous historians classify as
prophetic. Modern day publications of Nostradamus’s works are compilations that vary
depending on the ways that editors order the content. There is no sole or grand original volume
of work that is an official Nostradamus publication.
In The Prophecies, Nostradamus collated his major predictions that are long term forecasts. The
first installment published in 1555 contains 353 Quatrains. The third edition added 300 new
Quatrains. This volume was likely printed circa 1558. It survives as part of the Omnibus Edition
that was published after Nostradamus’s passing. This version contains one unrhymed and 941
rhymed Quatrains. These are grouped into nine sets of 100 and one of 42, known as ‘Centuries’.

Quatrains
A quatrain is a type of ‘stanza’ that contain four lines. A stanza is a complete poem. This Quatrain,
created spontaneously by this author, is an adaptation of one of the most famous clique Quatrain
variants heard in school yards in the English language.
Roses are red, (A)
And violets are blue, (B)
Krispy Kreme icing, (C)
Is sweet just, like you. (B)
That cheezie effort probably won’t win the heart of a prize catch with discerning poetical taste.
The capital letters on the right of each sentence capture rhyme. Only the second and final verse
rhyme (B). From a mathematical permutations perspective, there are 15 possible variants. ABBA,
AAAA and ABAB are common patterns in poetical quatrains published in prior centuries.
All but one of Nostradamus’s Quatrains impart ABDC no-rhyme patterns when translated into
English. This Quatrain is an ABCD example of one of Nostradamus’s most highly cited stanzas.
From the depths of the West of Europe,
A young child will be born of poor people,
He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop;
His fame will increase towards the realm of the East. Century III: 35
Some commentators claim that this Quatrain predicts the rise of Adolph Hitler (e.g. Caine, 2018).

Texts
To understand the full meaning of an individual Quatrain, one needs to evaluate the full context
of the Quatrain. I explore this topic in further detail in Part Three of this book titled ‘Linguistics’.

Trumpets
Many public commentators analyze Nostradamus’s Quatrains to identify which stanzas may refer
to Donald John Trump – America’s incumbent President. This article published by The New Yorker
(2017) six days after President Trump’s inauguration is an example. This extract shown below
makes direct reference to Quatrain Century 1, 40 which appears in full text format, overleaf.
The image above shows the full paragraph. This ploy is deliberate – so that I do not quote this
brief reference to Nostradamus out of context. This is the only reference to Nostradamus in this
article authored by Daniel Wenger. The paragraph shown above is the third paragraph of this 8-
paragraph article. The New Yorker states that “Daniel Wenger is a member of The New Yorker’s
editorial staff.”

There are five additional Quatrains that contain the ‘TRUMP’ string. These are listed below, in
ascending numerical order. I show the French and English version cited from Arcanaeum (2003).

I reiterate the scope of this book – an analysis of Quatrain Century III, 81 only. Numerous
interpretations of this stanza can be traced via online searches and scholarly databases.

Sequence
Certain scholars who analyze Nostradamus’s Quatrains theorize that his 10 Centuries and 942
Quatrains are mostly ordered in a random sequence . This scholarly discussion by Reading (2006)
explains how the Quatrains are read by some scholars intertextually as a related collective.
An in-depth interpretation of this complex topic is beyond the scope of this book that focuses
on one Quatrain as its core objective. The brief discussion on this page brings this issue to the
readers’ attention – should they wish to explore the possibility of interconnections between
Quatrains across the centuries, within the centuries and with Nostradamus’s other writings.

Many public commentators who analyze Nostradamus’s writings claim that there are references
to Donald Trump’s legacy in stanzas that do not contain the string ‘TRUMP’. For example,
Christian Post writer Ligonberry Fields (2019) claims that this Quatrain, shown in the image
below, is a reference to President Donald Trump.
Century 2, 24
Claims that Quatrain number 81 in Century 3 is an accurate prophecy of the election of Donald
Trump abound in media such as mainstream news and scholarly articles. Using statistical
sampling techniques, I estimate that more has been written about this Quatrain and its
connection to Trump, than the totality of all other discussions in the English language that link
President Trump to Nostradamus’s other Quatrains. Hence the focus of this book on this stanza.

Trump
This section provides a brief overview of the biography of Donald John Trump. Donald was born
on June 14, 1946. He was born and raised in Queens, New York City. Donald is the fourth child of
the late Fred Trump – a renowned property developer and businessman from New York City. In
an interview on the Roseanne Barr Show in 1998, Donald stated that his relationship with his
mother is special. It cannot be compared to his other female relationships (YouTube, 2018).
Donald Trump enrolled as a cadet in the New York Military Academy at age 13 and reached the
rank of Cadet Captain in his late teens. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from
University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance in 1968.
Donald Trump has been married three times and is a father to five children. Donald Junior,
Ivanka and Eric are his children from his first marriage with Ivana Marie Zelníčková. Tiffany Trump
is Donald’s daughter from his second marriage to Marla Maples. President Trump is also father
to Barron, from his marriage to his current wife Melanija Trump (nee Knavs).
Virtually all of Donald Trump’s major accomplishments reported in the media relate to his self-
made global business empire that transcends several overlapping business sectors. These
include: real-estate development, media, gaming, entertainment and publishing. I explore these
achievements in the forthcoming sub-sections of this book, including the next part titled ‘Great’.

Linguistics

Linguistics
This chapter introduces basic principles of the discipline of language analysis known as
‘Linguistics’. This figure is an orthodox classification of this field’s main branches (Karava, 2016).
Pragmatics explores the ways that language may be used to construct practical outcomes.
Semantics examines the meaning of speech and text by analyzing its placement in wider contexts
such as sentences, paragraphs, chapters, textual volumes and orations. Phonology is the study
of sound patterns within language structures. Phonetics is the study of speech sounds. Syntax
explores the grammatical rules that underpin the creation of sentence structures within a
language system such as American English. Morphology studies the ways that words are formed
within a language system and the relationship with other words that have similar root structures.

Free scholarly books are available for those seeking a deeper understanding of applied linguistics
beyond the introduction in this mini chapter. These figures are examples of quality,
comprehensive handbooks that are available via the links in the references section of this book.

POTUSA inauguration January 20, 2017

This section centers around the presentation of images that portray an aura of success in Donald
Trump’s personal and professional lives. Success is clearly a subjective adjective.
The image on the previous page may be evidence per se that Donald J Trump has achieved
greatness. Yes, certainly, if this is one of the Presidential ‘winners’ whose victory was not rigged
behind the curtain. In the context of Quatrain Century III, 81, the image on this inauguration
image is not evidence per se of the Great leader. Other living American Presidents retain the
emeritus POTUSA title. And serving, retired and deceased Heads of State of great nations abound.
For many, building an ethical billionaire business empire, within the bounds of the law, is a
pinnacle of high success. For others, it is unethical for one individual to control/hoard billions in
wealth when billions of impoverished people live on less than ten USD a day.
Some may overlook the role of success within the family structure. All of Donald Trump’s children
attended his Presidential inauguration on January 20, 2017. Moreover, at face-value, it seems
that Donald enjoys excellent relations with his oldest three adult children who serve alongside
him as President in roles that involve mass amounts of volunteer work for their mother country.
I invite you to reflect critically on the images that appear in this section. These are not natural,
spontaneous images. They are planned and stage-managed by public relations professionals.

Trump Brand buildings are among the grandest of newer ones in Manhattan and famed cities.

when he developed this building. The Trump Brand is badged on some of the most prestigious
real estate in Manhattan, such as 40 Wall Street. A Trump Building badging license is not an
indication that the building was developed by or is owned by Donald Trump’s empire. Trump
brand building projects extend far and wide: Las Vegas and India are examples beyond New York.

TV
Television audiences and their short attention spans are the toughest nuts to crack. Trump’s
Apprentice ratings didn’t dent the ratings. It smashed them. The Apprentice ran for 15 seasons.
Pre 2017, too many political cronies led failed, corrupt deep state agencies for years beyond their
partially useful expiry date. Puppets of the past were too impotent to say: “YOU’RE FIRED!”.

Filmography
Donald’s high success on The Apprentice is not a fluke. Since the 1980s, Hollywood’s biggest
directors have courted Donald for cameo appearances in TV shows, films, commercials, sports
events and music videos. He has made dozens of A-list appearances in these formats combined.

Numerous mainstream fake news critics note that President Trump’s relationship with
Hollywood soured sometime after his Drain the Swamp, MAGA mantra mainstreamed.

Orator
Donald Trump’s physical and verbal communications ‘genius’ is contested. It is rarely discussed
objectively in mainstream media. Numerous speech analysts, such as qualified linguistics, claim
that Donald Trump’s public speaking style is profoundly clever, in subtle and inverse ways.
As a political candidate and Presidential speaker, Donald Trump rarely speaks in a polished,
diplomatic manner. This free-spirited approach covertly distinguishes his brand as anti-political
and anti-establishment. Donald Trump uses a narrow vocabulary and discusses topics briefly
before moving onto a new topic. This amplifies his core message to mainstream audiences.
Detractors argue that these factual observations are evidence of uncontrollable character flaws.
Critics of President Trump’s speeches imagine him as a simple, crude operator with a narrow
attention span. May you reflect on the evidence and decide for yourself. President Trump won
an unwinnable election against great odds. For many, his victorious record speaks for itself.

Glamour puss
One doesn’t need more than two big brain cells to conclude that the Miss Universe Pageant is a
successful global institution. Formed in 1952, this parade is televised in around 190 nations.
Thumbs up.
Donald owned and developed the Miss Universe Organization from 1996 to 2015. Does this
extravaganza empower or degrade women? May you freely draw your own conclusions.

Bestsellers
Trump is listed as co-author of several bestselling books that have influenced modern culture.
Donald Trump’s book ‘The Art of the Deal’ is among the most famous, highly cited texts published
in recent decades. It has inspired many leaders and others. It has been revised and reprinted
multiple times since 1987. All books shown above credit a co-author, e.g. ‘With Meredith McIver’
in small print. Few workaholic frontline executives have time to pen a chapter or spend hundreds
of hours painstakingly revising a first draft. Most celebrities orate their story to a writer who is
credited as second co-author. So-called bestseller lists may be pay to play (get ranked) shams.

Chapter 13
Donald Trump has seen a few big busts in his time. I list three examples below.

Shameless

Shame
Shame is an adjective that refers to a human emotion such as guilt or embarrassment. It may also
refer to a verb such as this example: ‘the corporate media aim to fat shame overweight people
to appease their sponsors, such as manufacturers of slimming pills and so-called diet shakes’.
According to Roget’s Thesaurus (2013) these words are synonyms for ‘shameless’.
Experiencing personal shame – in public or in private, is not automatically a bad, negative or
neutral experience. It depends on context and the personal makeup of the person feeling shame.
Many people believe that a shameless personality has net positive benefits. Those who cannot
be shamed by others may enjoy more self-empowerment and mental freedom. A sovereign
person aims to deflect all negative and controlling energies projected by others. A theme in this
brief section is that shameless people may have more fun. May you freely decide if you agree.

President Donald Trump has been the subject of some of the most vicious, borderline criminal
attacks from partisan Hollywood celebrities that have ever been directed at a sitting POTUSA.
Donald Trump is unlike virtually all other Heads of State of living memory. He speaks his mind
and does not self-censor. Often, he is responding to vicious attacks initiated by the other party.

Audacious

This center-of-attention was the last man standing in July 2016.

Audacity
Audacity, an adjective, shares similarities with shamelessness, as shown by this thesaurus extract.
An important distinction is that references to ‘audacious acts’ imply positive connotations of
bravery. Audacity is sometimes an intersection of shamelessness and courage.
According to Roget’s Thesaurus (2013) these words are synonyms for ‘audacious’.
This author suggests that the image on the prior page is a distinct example of Donald Trump’s
audacity. During early-mid 2016, numerous political commentators dismissed Donald Trump’s
Presidential bid as a hollow publicity-seeking farce. The media article overleaf is an example.
This section presents images that are suggestive of audacious acts by America’s incumbent
President. May you reflect on these images, and other sources, and determine where you stand.

Win-Win
According to mainstream media folk lore, Donald Trump’s 2016 Presidential campaign was a
publicity stunt. He did not deeply care to win office and did not seriously believe that he had a
chance of winning. This Times article dated March 13, 2016 captures this popular sentiment.
Whether these claims about Donald Trump are true are probably academic. He has been
appointed President of the USA and has served in this role for 2.5 years this far. I suspect that
this story by The Times is partially true. The odds were stacked against a Trump win for the
Republican candidature and the College Electoral System national vote. In other words, Donald
set his candidacy up as a guaranteed win-win matrix. The worst outcome he faced was billions of
dollars in free advertising for the Trump brand. Business acumen genius at its finest? Perhaps.

Last laugh
Whatever his legacy, Donald Trump will surely be remembered for winning the unwinnable
election. Hillary Clinton’s Presidential candidacy was blatantly supported by the most powerful
institutions in America and beyond. These include the corporate fake news media and social
media such as Facebook and YouTube who used algorithms to sabotage Trump’s campaign.
Latest (2016)
Polls that reported Trump’s chance of winning the Presidency at less than 15% were the norm.
This may explain why Donald added the adjective ‘fake news’ into the English language lexicon.

Fake news
The inbred networks that underpin America’s corporate fake news media empires are virtually
untouchable. They can and do make-or-break any politician, celebrity or citizen with impunity.
James Anthony Traficant Jr is among a handful of congress representatives who spoke out loudly
against corrupt globalist vested interests. Donald Trump seems worthy of being added to this list.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly called CNN, The Washington Post and The New York
Times, and others “Fake News”. This is unprecedented. Mr. President – I salute you on this point.

The Art of the Surreal
In mid-late August 2019, President Trump publicly expressed an interest in the United States of
America buying Greenland from the Kingdom of Denmark on multiple occasions. He made this
offer in advance of his scheduled meeting with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
There are precedents for sovereign nation-states purchasing land masses from other sovereign-
nation-states. Such acts are extremely rare in recent decades. Mette Frederiksen publicly labelled
President Trump’s offers “absurd”. Donald Trump labelled her response “nasty” (ABC, 2019).
This novel incident may remind us that Donald is a businessman at heart. He is not yet a career
swamp politician. Business executives make offers – take it, leave it or counter it. Or spit on it.

Swamp draining
As context, I offer the observation that an abnormally high number of supreme leaders have
abdicated in recent years. Per tradition, these types usually rule over their underlings until death.
The first Papal renunciation in 598 years. No kidding. Bye bye, 2013.

Kip Simpson
Since January 2017, hundreds of political officials have been arrested and charged for corruption
in America. These include Mayors, City Officials and some current and former retired congress
members. Per capita, the pace of these arrests is more than double of recent decades. The
mainstream media either ignore these developments or report them as footnote stories that are
buried as sub-pages online or in print editions. The ‘Kip Simpson’ YouTube channel (2019) has
been meticulously chronicling these numerous developments in recent years.
Since January 2017, the number of Republican and Democrats who have resigned from office or
decided to not run for the midterms has been more than double the rate in recent decades.
The ‘voluntary’ resignation of Paul Ryan (Republican) shocked many seasoned political analysts.

Research
There is no denying that Donald Trump likes to talk up the American economy (that’s a positive)
and his Administration’s ‘numerous’ achievements. He frequently has no hesitation taking sole
credit for his ever-growing list of accomplishments. In January 2019, The Washington Post

archaic Greek and Latin words to encrypt his poems. The spelling, grammar and vocabulary of
this style of French is indecipherable to most native French language speakers. Moreover, these

The 16th Century French to 20th Century English translation ‘Governor of the Army’ refers to the
leader of a national military force. A governor is a civilian political leader. French philosopher
Michel Foucault (1984) frequently uses the noun ‘Army’ as a substitute for the nation’s national
military force. Military Air Force Commands did not exist before the 20th Century. Prior to the
17th Century, military naval commands were rare and miniscule in modern day France.
As seen in the image on the prior page, the highest rankings officers in America’s military
command are the only people wearing civilian clothing. These are America’s former Secretary of

Forces. I support each claim with a primary source document to strengthen each argument.

Appointments
The President of the United States of America has the power to nominate the head of an
executive agency, such as the Defense Secretary, who leads the Armed Forces. A simple majority
of the Defense Senate Review Committee and Senate is required to approve the appointment.
The POTUSA has implied power from Section II of America’s Constitution to cancel the
appointment of any member of the Executive Branch, including Agency Heads and rank-and-file
staff. This implied power is supported by judicial case law that unambiguously recognizes the
POTUSA as the highest ranked Executive Officer. The President cannot terminate the Vice
President’s tenure per Article 2, Sections 1 & 4 of America’s Constitution.
Scholars such as Tagliarina (2017) argue that American Presidents must be able to demonstrate
just cause for removing any employee, should their termination or demotion be challenged in a
Federal Court. This is a moot argument. The POTUSA has the right to overturn any administrative
decision executed by a member of the executive, including court reinstated personnel.

Unilateral Deployment
President Trump may unilaterally deploy his armed forces into conflict without notice – subject
to statutory limitations. The War Powers Resolution requires the President to notify Congress
within 48 hours of committing forces into battle. It denies the armed forces from remaining for
more than 60 days, with a further 30-day withdrawal period, without (a) Congressional
authorization for use of military force, or (b) a formal Declaration of War by the Executive Branch.

The structure of this section centers around the diagram shown on page 1. The premise of this
discussion is the argument that the incumbent American Administration is boldly leading a covert
global war against a transnational cartel comprised primarily of inbred mafia crime families.

‘The Bridge Broken’ is much shorter and vaguer than the prior two lines. This gives linguistics
analysts little to work with. The literal meaning of this syntax means that some sort of carriage
way becomes disconnected, and possibly destroyed. Metaphorical analysis most likely refers to
the withdrawal of a platform that connects people in the physical and/or emotional senses.
Numerous commentators review the first half of this Quatrain and then contextualize this against
Quatrain Century 1, Number 40 (e.g. Didymus, 2019). They point to the dominance of Donald
Trump’s electioneering promises to build a wall and repel and expel illegal immigrants from
America. The broken bridge may refer to the closure of America’s southern Mexico border.
According to historians, Byzantium is a synonym for a migrant hub. The ancient Byzantium Empire
was a social and economic hub from the late antiquity to the late middle ages.

There are no clues in this Quatrain about what city this stanza refers to. It may be a populated
city of global fame such as New York or a walled city nation-state such as the Vatican, or another
city. It may refer to a metaphor or a synonym such as ‘City’ being a municipal government.
The adjective ‘faint’ has many distinct synonymous. This is an example from Roget’s thesaurus.
There is a suggestion that the word ‘faint’ refers to some sort of paralysis, possibly on behalf of
the city’s populace, as this line contains the word ‘fear’ in context. I sampled 60 written articles
that aim to decode Quatrain Century III, Number 81. None of these attempt to interpret “city
faint from fear”. Several of these articles explicitly refer to the ambiguity of this Quatrain and
Nostradamus’s 492 Quatrains in general as a way to explain their lack of insight on this line.
