Broadway herbicide – restraining the growth of large leafed weeds and permanent grasses
1. Known globally, FMC Corporation entered the Australian agricultural and crop protection
market by introducing its line of crop protection products in August 2012. One of its most
effective products carries the brand name, Broadway, a non-discriminating foliar herbicide
that helps in restraining the growth of various annual large leaf weeds and permanent
grasses.
Manufacturing suitable products to protect crops from insects and other pests as well as
crop diseases, FMC also takes time to advise their customer on the correct way of storing
and disposal of insecticides and pesticides.
The best way to store these products is to keep it in its original package, covered. Make
sure that the storage area is well-aerated and cool. Avoid keeping it for a long period and
shade it from the direct rays of the sun.
Like other pesticides, certain rulings, particularly those set by the Australian Standard
2507, must be followed when disposing of Broadway, or during a spill.
2. • To recycle, restore cap to a new and fresh container to the assigned collection area. If not,
•
destroy and bring the empty case at an official waste management facility for proper
dumping. Hide the empty case 500 mm below an approved disposal ditch.
• Block leaks with sand or soil to discourage leaks to extend further
• Keep it away from getting into sewers, drain and other water channels
• Keep pets and children away from leaked pesticide
• Throw the drained, vacuumed and scooped refuse into the designated barrel
• Sanitize the area of the spill by using detergent, organic solvent or bleach
• Put tags on the drum
