2. Aphrodite
the Goddess of Beauty

3. Aphrodite is an ancient Greek goddess associated
with love, beauty, pleasure and passion. Aphrodite's major symbols
include myrtles, roses, doves,
sparrows, and swans.
In Greek mythology, Aphrodite
was married to Hephaestus, the god
of blacksmiths and metalworking.
Despite this, Aphrodite was frequently
unfaithful to him and had many lovers.

4. Aphrodite's main festival, the
Aphrodisia, was celebrated
across Greece, but particularly
in Athens.

5. Aphrodite is usually said to have been born near,
Paphos, on the island of Cyprus, which is why she is
sometimes called "Cyprian“ . According to a legend, the Greek
goddess of love Aphrodite was born and rose from the foam
near a rock off what’s now Aphrodite’s Beach in Cyprus.
The Sanctuary of Aphrodite Paphia, marking her birthplace,
was a place of pilgrimage in the ancient world for
centuries for people to show their devotion.
Other versions of her myth have her born near the island
of Cythera, hence another of her names, "Cytherea".

6. Eros was Aphrodite's son.
During Aphrodite's affair with Ares, they
had Eros.
Eros was named the god of love and would
help Aphrodite at work. Aphrodite would
dip arrows in her love potion and Eros would
shoot them at whoever his mother told him to,
and make them fall in love with a certain other.

7. There are many legends about Aphrodite.
One of them is Aphrodite and Adonis.
