An integrated full-service network is
required for full-service operation
Class 1: fixed and mobile service
provider
Invest in both mobile and fixed networks and develop
MBB using advantages in the fixed network domain.
Class 2: mobile service provider
Make up for the weakness in the fixed network domain
through purchasing and building (independently and
cooperatively) fixed networks.

MA5633 Power Supply
 Two ports can be used for the power
supply in different scenarios
 POWER port: Only used for local AC
power supply
 RF IN0 port: Couples the power
supply with CATV signals before
sending them to the MA5633. This
port applies to the scenarios where
CATV and power signals are mixed
 They cannot be used at the same
time

MA5633 Heat Dissipation
 The MA5633 is optimally designed to achieve passive
cooling
 The sub rack of the MA5633 is made of die casting aluminum
alloy. With this type of material, the mother board of the sub
rack implements passive cooling using a cooling groove.
 Advantages:
 Quite with less noises
 Avoid the easily broken fan, and the maintenance cost is
reduced
 Reduce the power consumption

MA5800
All packages from line cards do forwarding lookup in
the central forward engine.
The system switch capacity is limited by the central
forward engine which max switch capacity is 3T bps
now in industry.
The forwarding table maybe not enough because the
forwarding table is shared in whole system.
For example: MAC table: 256K/Routing table:
16K
Same architecture with Core routes and switches:
Each line card has its own forward engine to do
packet forwarding lookup.
The system switch capacity is the sum of each line
card, totally 7Tbps, future may expand to 14T.
The system forwarding table is enough big and
easily extended by add uplink cards.
For example: MAC table: 1M/Routing table:
64K

Migrate from GPON/XG-PON to
TWDM-PON (Simple and Seamless)
 Current GPON/XG-PON, TWDM-PON signals can be both carried with the same ODN
based on the wavelength multiplex. Easy to plan and management.
 Only the upgraded user’s profile need to be reconfigured under the GPON/XG-PON port
when one user upgrade to TWDM-PON.

Advantages
 Mature standard and
industry chain, able to
scale commercial deploy.
 Could hybrid with
TWDM-PON, Smooth
evolution
 Buy wave as need, pay as you grow
 Ds/Us Symmetrical 10G
 High capacity, 40/80G per Group
 Share ODN with XG-PON, no need to
change .
 every user occupies an
exclusive wavelength, safe and
reliable.
 Support Ds/Us Symmetrical 10G
 Short delay, high capacity,
suitable for CPRI mobile
fronthaul.
Disadvantages
 Not support Symmetrical
10G for both Ds/Us,
application scenario
limited
 Currently immature industry chain, is
expected in 2018 can scale to obtain
(G.989.3 has not been released, no GMAC
Asic chipset)
 Currently immature industry
chain
 Need to do little change on ODN,
add a MUX/DeMux device, this
leads a ~4dB optical loss.
Scenario
Able to scale commercial
deploy after GPON era:
 Home, office, mobile
Mainstream of NG Access after XG-PON:
 Office, mobile backhaul, aggregation of
FTTC/B/D, Open Access
 Specific scenario with symmetrical mode
asked.
Applicable for some special
scenarios :
 Leased line applicaton which
care about security and
bandwidth.
 CPRI mobile fronthaul.
