3. PLAY /LEISURE
• Described as choosing, performing, and engaging in activities
for amusement, relaxation,enjoyment, and/ or self-expression
• Play and leisure actvities are to be enjoyed and are
fundamentally creative activities.
• In palliative care with children, play is a valuable for expression
and channelling energy (connectingn and communicating)
4. PLAY
• Play can be used as a therapy to maintain or develop new skills.
• When an adult talks of play it is understood to be fun activity and
light-hearted, for pleasure and enjoyment
• Play is seriously and deeply important to a child : strengthens
the body, improve the mind, develop the personality and acquire
social competence
