1) Paul comforts the Thessalonian believers about those who have died, explaining that when Jesus returns, the dead in Christ will rise first before those still alive are caught up together to meet Him.
2) Jesus will descend from heaven with a shout and trumpet call, and the dead will rise, then those alive will be caught up in the clouds to meet Him.
3) Christians are encouraged that they will forever be with the Lord, having been reunited with resurrected believers whether dead or alive at His second coming.
