1. Aim: Develop a workplan to support AHTs trained by this
project to set up a viable and sustainable primary animal
health care business
Step 1: SWOT Analysis for AHT Business & support needed to
establish a business
Step 2: From the analysis identify Priority Areas which the
MSP could work on to support AHT business development
Step 3: Select 4 Key priority areas to work on and establish thematic
working groups & assign a focal point for follow up
Step 4: In thematic working groups develop an action plan including
how you / your organizations could contribute towards the priority
area
Step 5: Compile to develop the workplan for the MSP
Step 6: Validate

2. WORKING GROUP SESSION 1 INSTRUCTIONS
 Conduct a SWOT Analysis for AHTs as private sector service
providers (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) (30min)
 List the resources and support AHTs would need to set up a
business? (30min)
 Based on the above analysis define priority areas for the Multi-
stakeholder platform to support business stability for AHTs setting
up in the private sector (30min)

3. WORKING GROUP SESSION 2 INSTRUCTIONS:
DEVELOPMENT OF A WORKPLAN PER PRIORITY AREA
 Define an outcome for the priority area
 Brainstorm all possible activities that could contribute to the
outcome
 Prioritize the activities (which would have greatest impact? which
are achievable? Which could your organization contribute to and
how?)
 Assign key stakeholders to each activity & timeline
