I never believed in aliens. Not until last week...
I live on a space-ship. A great big space-ark. My dear father
is the Captain. We travel through deep space, making star
maps.
It's a lonely life, but I like it. It's nice
and peaceful - just us and the stars.
We thought we had the galaxy to
ourselves. We never met any aliens.
Until last week...

It doesn't just taste delicious and smell divine - coffee is also thought
to be associated with a variety of health benefits, such as promoting
a healthy heart, protecting against type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s,
and reducing the risk of skin cancer, to name just a few. Now, to add
to this ever-growing list, a bunch of scientists has found that regularly
drinking coffee can contribute to the integrity of our DNA.
39. Here are some steps to writing a short story:
1. What does the protagonist want?
2. Write a catchy first paragraph or sentence.
Examples: Everyone in the office turned and stared.
3. Develop Characters
Think of the following details:
• Appearance. Gives your reader a visual understanding of the character.
• Action. Show the reader what kind of person your character is, by describing
actions rather than simply listing adjectives.
• Speech. Develop the character as a person — don’t merely have your character
announce important plot details.
• Thought. Bring the reader into your character’s mind, to show them your
character’s unexpressed memories, fears, and hopes.
4. Break the Story into a Scene List
Every story is composed of a set of scenes which take place in a specific place and
time.

get you started…

51. A letter your
2026 Future Self
Doing this exercise can be a really insightful
experience.
Just imagine writing a letter to your future self
ten years from now, then opening it at that
exact moment ten years down the road to read
the message that the past you left for yourself.
It is a useful supplementary tool to be used in
goal achievement, because when you write the
letter to your future self, it helps crystallize your
ideal vision for yourself in the future.
52. Here are some ideas:
• How do you feel at this moment in your life?
• What are some hopes and dreams you have for the future?
• What goals would you like to have accomplished?
• What obstacles do you currently have that you would like to
overcome?
• What are the positives and negatives in your current life?
• What advice would you give to yourself 10 years from now?
