MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION




Sembcorp Industries on Monday announced that it
has signed a conditional agreement to acquire 45
per cent of India's NCC Power Projects (NCCPP) for
Rs. 848 crores (S$175 million).Potential "substantial
synergies" drove the investment. NCCPP is currently
building a 1,320-megawatt coal-fired power plant
along the coast of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh,
adjacent to Sembcorp's first power plant investment
in India, Thermal Powertech Corporation India
(TPCIL).
SP AusNet on Monday said its 350-euro million, 10year euro bond issue to raise A$543 million (S$606
million) has met with “strong demand” and was
close to four times oversubscribed. This is the
electricity distributor’s the second euro bond issue
completed in the past 12 months. The earlier one
was a 500-euro million, seven-year bond issue to
raise A$707 million.
Singapore’s cooling measures have caused property
firms to ramp up their overseas diversification
efforts, with Australia, the UK and the US emerging
as favoured destinations New and adjusted local
government policies in recent years that were meant
to prevent a real estate asset bubble .
