Think about the words you commonly associate with daydreaming and ask yourself if those positive, neutral or negative. If you’re like many people, you’ve probably associated negative words with this state of mind. But even, switching your language can open you up to the creative possibilities inherent in daydreaming.
Our sense of reality is blurred, thus, warps our sense of time.Daydreaming by some is called a time when our spirit “steps out” of our body and goes to wherever and we end up in a trance.
How are you really? Feeling a little empty? Frustrated? Lost? When we daydream, we become more aware that our spirit, your true life force is bored, tired and run down.Like meditation, daydreaming allows us to listen to our thoughts. BUT, daydreaming is involuntary. Its self-awareness and empowerment at it finest.
When we our mind is not focused on a specific task, that is when our mind tends to wander. Thus, BOREDOM = DAYDREAMING.
Escape their real world problems and stressful situations.Creating a different world; a greater and brighter world.Beautiful thoughts are indeed better than harsh reality.Indulge to become unmindful of his environment. In a Today Show segment a soldier talked about his participation in a filmmaking program which disabled veterans were being taught how to write, shoot and edit films. He described the renewed hope he gained from the program. He said; “I daydream a lot about things I’m going to do now. The same daydreams you have when you’re 20-I have those daydreams again.”We envision a brighter future or new goals to make life less bleak.
Thru, daydreaming we may be able to formulate new solutions and invent new ways of doing things. We are able to test every possible outcome in our daydreams, and choose the best from all the outcomes we thought up.Some form of daydreaming include a recollection of past events. We may be able to find and analyze and learn.Relive situations/problem and rationalize better; leading us to feel better or worse about the situation. (depending on the rationalization)How are we able to do all this? Because in our heads there are no laws and no boundaries.
Not mindful of your surroundings. When we indulge, we lose precious time. Time that can be used for more productive things.STUPIDITY & PROCRASTINATION.Maladaptive daydreaming was 1st proposed by Dr. Eli Somer, for a condition in which an individual excessively daydreams.Like a drug, it is when daydreaming is used as an outlet and abused, which then turns into an addiction, that affects our thoughts, productivity and social lives.FACT: MOST WOMEN WOULD RATHER DATE A MAN WHO IS ADDICTTED TO PORN RATHER THAN VIDEO & PC GAMES.Why? Because if a man is addicted to games he would rather spend his time indoors, eyes glued to the screen. Where as a man addicted to porn would spend his time with a real girl than a virtual one. Thus, Maladaptive daydreaming is like playing an RPG in your mind, where you created all the characters and scenarios. And you’ve become addicted to finish that game.Although some would say the PROs outweigh the CONs, we should always remember that in any situation “TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING IS BAD THING.”
Our daydreams are our source of ideas, creativity, self-knowledge, and motivation. We are tapping into stores of knowledge and experience unavailable when locked in the tunnel-vision of focus. We can see things, people, and events via the mind’s eye.Which gives us the freedom to explore a wide variety of options without an internal critic hovering.Making random connections, which can lead to creative solutions.
Don’t think of your daydreams as something useless because it might become something more.
