Title The assignment will be completed during class time and outside of
class time. Students will spend some class time in the computer lab
Introduction (if available) and some class time will be spent going to the school
Task library for research. A research paper will be created using Google
docs. The research paper should be 2-3 pages double spaced, 12 pt.

Students will have in class time and will work outside of class to complete their
Title assignment. Students will work collaboratively in groups of 3-4. Each group will be
researching one of these countries: Libya, Afghanistan, Chile, Israel, Slovakia, Wales, and
Introduction Monaco. These are the steps to complete the assignment:
     Task
                  1. Students should form groups of 3-4 people
Process 2. Each group will pick a country out of a hat so that every group will have a random
                  country
Evaluation 3. Students will conduct research on certain topics about their country such as:
                                  a. colors of the flag
  Conclusion b. type of government

                                  g. language
                  4. Every group will write a research paper on their country using Google docs and the
                  topics listed above
                  5. The students will then take the information from their research paper and create a video
                  using animoto.com
                  6. After the students have had 3 weeks to complete the assignment, they will present their
country to the class by showing the video they made and they will also make a dish to
share with the class that is common food in the country they researched.
                  7. For every student in the group there should be one resource that was used and cited
while doing their project (ex. 4 people in a group 4 sources used and cited).
                  8. Students will turn in their research paper when they present their video.

› Don’t pass others work off as your own.
Everyone works hard to produce or develop
things and ideas on topic, and they do so to
share with others. This doesn’t mean though
that we can pass them off as our. Always
make sure to properly cite where something
      has come from.
› Properly citing other’s work means both in
the text itself, as well as in a bibliography.
 Easybib.com is a free and useful internet
  cite that helps create bibliographies.
  Bibliographies are important to research
and essays because they clearly show
the the sources we use to create our
  own texts.
 All you have to do is fill out the basic
information on the source in Easy Bib and
the website compiles the correct type of
citation based on what form you are
  using. (MLA, APA, etc.)
 Purdue Owl is a free online writing lab

sources within the texts, depending on
the type and the form of the paper.

we have, what our flag looks like, what languages are spoken
