1. When creating this video we
experimented with continuity editing and
the use of sound. We learnt how to cut
on action to make sure the video still
flowed well and didn’t have any long
pauses or any gaps. We used two
different songs to make the footage have
a completely different feel to it. We chose
a horror song on the first edit and slowed
the footage down to give a ‘spooky’
effect. On the second edit we used a humorous song and sped up the
footage to give a funny feel to the song. We learnt how to speed up or
slow down the video by right clicking on the part I wanted to change the
speed of and then clicked ‘speed/Duration’ this then came up with a
window allowing us to adjust the speed. We changed the speed of the
footage to make the songs and help give the right effect.
Whist filming we had to take into account the 180 degrees
rule and had made sure we didn’t cross it.
Another skill we learnt was how to add an effect on the
video. To do this I clicked on ‘Image Control’ and then
selected ‘Black & White’. We chose to add a black and
white effect on the first edit to add an even more ‘spooky’
feel to it as it was to a horror song.
