2. "The earth is our refuge, let us help protect
and care for it, since that depends on the
future of many generations."
3. 1,- Recycle– not only will that glass bottle become a new glass bottle,
but you’ll also help to reduce pollution and create jobs!
4. 2. Reuse– wrapping paper, unbroken bags and bows for future gifts or art projects with the kids;
donate clothes and toys you aren´t using to those who need them. And we can convert something
that we aren´t using into something useful; for example use a shoe box to store pencils, crayons
and stickers.
5. 3. Save on Electricity– dry clothes on clothes line when warm and sunny, turn off the lights in
your home that you aren’t really using, change to energy saving lightbulbs and set a
programmable thermostat.
6. 4. Use public transportation– the excessive amounts of gas used on our planet will
someday run out. Taking public transportation to get to work will make a big difference in the
end.
7. 5. Take the stairs– it’s not only good exercise and good for your heart, but it also saves
electricity. If it’s only a couple flights of stairs, why take an elevator?
8. 6. Save Water– Take short showers, and only occasional baths. Bring a water bottle from
home rather than buying plastic bottles. And turn off the tap while you’re brushing your teeth
or while you are scrubbing the pots and pans.
9. 7. Go paperless– most banks and utility companies nowadays send bills online.
10. 8. Choose low energy appliances– from washing machines and dishwashers to toasters and
blenders it´s worth looking at how energy efficient it is before purchasing
11. 9. Eat less red meat– livestock consume most of the grain in most countries requiring massive
amounts of water.
12. 10. Buy local products– buying local food and produce, clothing and shoes not only helps
local farmers and shop owners but also reduces the negative impact of transporting so much
foreign merchandise.
