erosys Aviation is an UAV manufacturing as
well as Service providing Company. We have a
team of enthusiastic and dedicated specialists
dedicatedtoprovidingexcellentservicetoourcustomers.
Our key concerns are client satisfaction, efficient use of
technology, and the provision of high-quality products
and services.
We produce a wide range of commercial drones and
unmanned aerial vehicles. Drone solutions are also
available to all major industries, including agriculture,
industrial, environmental, public, and private agencies.
Surveying and Mapping, Safety and Security, Inspection,
and Aerial Photography and Videography are just a few
of the Drone solutions we offer.
Solutions We Provide
■ Surveying and Mapping: The Unmanned Aerial
Vehicles (UAVs) have the potential to become a
support system for future Surveying and Mapping
applications.
■ Safety and Security: Aerial Surveillance using drones
provide an advanced solution to the limitations of
classic surveillance methods.
■ Inspection: Drones provide for an efficient, high
precision and cost-effective alternative to identify
fault zones even in hard to reach areas of inspection.
20 MAY 2021 SwiftNLift
21. What We Offer?
■ Aerial Drone Photography: Aerial photography is a
fantastic way to explore landscapes and architecture
from unusual perspectives, allowing you to snap
stunning images of often inaccessible regions.
■ Aerial Videography & Advertisement: Drones can go
places that manned vehicles can’t, and at a fraction
of the expense. As a result, this technology is now
suitable for a wide range of uses.
■ Professional Post Production: Your aerial footage’s
impact and cinematic worth will be substantially
enhanced by post-production techniques. Drone
footage can be brought to life by editing and adding
music or sound effects.
Why Use Drones For Surveying And
Mapping?
■ Time Saving
Traditional surveying methods might take many days,
if not a week, to complete. A survey, on the other
hand, will just take a few hours with the use of UAV
technology. Data and images acquired on the same day
can be processed. It will allow you to collect data faster
and make better decisions.
■ Cost Effective
Drone surveys are substantially less expensive to
acquire and operate than satellite and human-piloted
aircraft surveys. The site’s and personnel’s technical
requirements are minimal, and everyday upkeep is
straightforward. These variables lower the cost of data
collecting, resulting in a more cost-effective solution.
■ Accessibility
Drones make it simple to survey places that would
otherwise be difficult, if not impossible, to reach. Cliffs,
Rugged Terrain, and other areas where traditional
surveying is difficult, if not impossible. Drones provide
a significant edge.
■ Accuracy
Spatial resolution and low altitude multi angle shooting
are two important surveying features. The spatial
resolution can be millimetres or even less in some
cases. Drones produce accurate digital models and 3D
landscape mapping, among other things.
■ Safety
Land surveying is a dangerous profession. Drones will
assist surveyors avoid surveying in high-risk areas by
removing the need for them to investigate new terrain.

MicroStrain Inertial Sensors with Real-World
Inputs: The Need for Reliable Data.
ATI Industrial Automation
Both the equipment and the personnel are
frequently exposed to harsh, rapidly changing
circumstances, putting them at danger of injuries
or worse. The sensors serve as the first line of
defence for both the equipment and the operators,
monitoring and reporting force, angular rate, and
orientation in real time.
MicroStrain MV5-AR Inertial sensor
Sensors that have been tested in real-world
simulations will be able to handle real-world
situations. Our MicroStrain team accomplished
this with the MV5-AR and ML5-AR industrial
tilt and angular rate sensors. The team was able
to achieve a valid reading in real-world situations
and conditions, which allowed them validate the
accuracy of their devices and distinguish them
from competitors.
Our certification rules include over 56 third-party
recognised requirements, including electrical,
mechanical, vibration, and environmental
parameters. We created a reproducible simulation
of certain conditions in our test setup by using
vibration and environmental data from real-
world equipment and machinery. This is done to
ensure that the IMU sensors can endure the harsh
circumstances that are faced on the job.
When MicroStrain inertial sensors were tested
against a competitor sensor, they were exposed to
a random vibration profile of roughly 8G RMS.
The ML5 and MV5 are orders of magnitude more
stable than competitors in a real-world vibration
situation.
When MicroStrain sensors are compared to
other sensors, they perform admirably. In a high-
vibration test using real-world field data, three
sensors, the MV5-AR, ML5-AR, and one from
a competitor, were exposed to a known input
vibration. Real-life scenarios that occurred during
the angular measurement training process. A
perfect sensor’s angular calculation reading will
be 0 degrees. Despite the fact that neither sensor
22 MAY 2021 SwiftNLift
23. read zero, the two MicroStrain sensors were near to zero, but the competitor’s sensor read 20 degrees.
The competitor’s sensor displayed rotation despite no physical movement on the axis, resulting in an
inaccurate readout.
When MicroStrain inertial sensors were compared to two rival sensors, the sensors were rotated +/-90
degrees in pitch. By many orders of magnitude, the MV5 and ML5 surpassed their competitors.
In the second test, the pitch error test, the team compared four sensors, including the MV5-AR, ML5-
AR, and two competitors’ sensors. By rotating both devices across the entire measurement range, the
goal was to demonstrate a tiny discrepancy in observed angle for identical angle values. While an ideal
sensor would have no mistakes over this spectrum, the researchers discovered major mistakes on all
rivals’ sensors, but only minor faults on the MV5 and ML5.
The results are clear: Parker MicroStrain sensors are the greatest solution for OEMs wishing to secure
their equipment and operators, according to real-world study.

ecause global navigation satellite systems
(GNSS) are so widely used, it’s easy to miss
the fact that GNSS measures aren’t always
simple or obvious. GNSS sensors use satellite
signals to calculate location, and inaccuracies
can emerge from a variety of causes due to the
system’s complexity and the distances covered by
measurements. System-level difficulties, such as
the receiver’s failure to “understand” a sufficient
number of satellites, could be to blame for the
mistakes. They could be the result of GPS signal
aberrations as they pass through the earth’s
atmosphere. Issues with the receiver, such as
multipath faults, might also cause them.
To achieve navigation precision, sensors use
algorithms that look at a series of data (rather than
a single measurement) and provide output figures
that adjust for measurement mistakes. These
techniques are known as sensor fusion algorithms,
sometimes known as Kalman filtering.
To achieve navigation precision, sensors employ
algorithms that examine a series of data (rather
than a single measurement) and generate output
numbers that correct for measurement mistakes.
The names given to these methods are sensor
fusion algorithms, sometimes known as Kalman
filtering.
Customers who purchase an inertial navigation
system frequently overlook Kalman filtering,
despite the fact that it is important to navigation
efficiency (INS). In the actual world, however,
studying the system’s filter in greater depth—
especially if it uses loose or tight coupling—will
result in increased overall navigation system
efficiency.
Better data equates to
improved navigation
30 MAY 2021 SwiftNLift
31. In a loosely coupled application, the Kalman filter
employs the GNSS receiver’s location and velocity
estimates, but in a strongly linked application, the
Kalman filter employs the raw measurements from
the receiver. Allowing the GNSS receiver to reduce
its incoming data to approximation performance
measures results in the loss of vital knowledge
that the filter algorithm could employ to generate
a more reliable probability distribution and a
better end solution, hence a tightly connected
configuration is desirable.
One advantage of transferring all incoming data
from the GNSS receiver to the INS is that Kalman
filters do not operate in isolation from other
components of their navigation systems. They’ll
compare inertial data from motion sensors and
rotation sensors to data from satellites, making
it easier to identify measurement sets that aren’t
dependable.
Tight coupling comes particularly handy when
GNSS receivers have a limited sky view and hence
limited access to satellites. Individual satellite
readings can be used to limit a tightly constrained
filter, making it more resilient.
Some INS makers utilise loosely coupled Kalman
filtersbecausetheyaresmoother.Tightlyconnected
designs demand a lot of labour, a lot of processing
resources, and a raw measurement GNSS receiver.
Parker LORD, on the other hand, believes that
the additional funds are well worth it. Even in
challenging dynamic navigation conditions, the
advanced, closely coupled, real-time kinematic
(RTK) capable Kalman filter in our new 3DM-
GQ7-GNSS/INS can guarantee reliable navigation
efficiency.

he COVID-19 pandemic has compelled us
to make changes in our daily lives, albeit not
all of them have been pleasant. In certain
circumstances, changing the way we operate –
largely for the purpose of safety – has pushed the
deployment of technologies to a point where we are
only scratching the surface. Our new normal, for
example, could include the employment of a drone
to detect sites where stay-at-home regulations are
being violated or to study social separation.
As a result of the pandemic, drones
and robots have found a slew of new
uses. In China, Europe, and the United
States, drones have been deployed to
spray disinfection. The construction
of two temporary hospitals in Wuhan
was substantially hastened because to satellite-
based technologies that offered high-precision
positioning. In the United States, drones are being
used to reach out to homeless individuals and
detect psychological distancing. Drones are being
utilised to bring personal protective equipment,
tests, and supplies to medical campuses and
providers around the country.
As mentioned, the use of drones and
robotics has dramatically increased
during this time. What are some of the
more common uses that are being
seen globally?
Drones are being utilised to clean stadiums,
shops, and ground surfaces. Every day, news
articlesaboutdronesbeingusedtocleanground
surfaces, supermarkets, and stadiums greet the
world. Robots are capable of stocking shelves and
conducting inventory duties. Delivery robotics
and drones have also gained in popularity, and
we’re now seeing robots go outside of factories and

39. into our neighbourhoods. COVID-19 highlights
how robotics, helicopters, and self-driving cars can
assist people in today’s world. Inertial navigation
systems and inertial measurement units (IMU)
are also being utilised to enable robots and
drones today in the following ways:
■
Disinfect medical facilities and
sanitize public surfaces such as
shelves and inside public transit
cars
■ Monitor crowded populations for
temperature and other symptoms to
follow guidelines that will help reduce
spread
■ Deliver medical, PPE and other essential
supplies
■ Fulfill takeout orders and execute curbside
pick-up at restaurants and grocery stores And
so much more!
What effect does the use of the Robot
Operating System (ROS) have on the
creation of prototypes to help in
the battle against COVID-19?
ROS is a robot operating system that
is free and open-source. Because it
provides a modular foundation for
constructing robot applications, it is
the usual venue for quickly generating
and distributing projects. ROS is a
programming language for developing
and simulating robotics and autonomous land
vehicle operations. It’s the go-to tool for those
doing simultaneous localization and visualisation
(SLAM). To aid in deeper integration within
the ROS ecosystem, we’ve established an open
source, free (MIT License) series of drivers that
are specifically built and tested for ROS. Our staff
keeps all of the drivers up to date and provides
assistance so that users may get the greatest
integration possible.
What other ways are we assisting
consumers during the coronavirus
outbreak?
This pandemic has hastened what we believe will
be a near-future planet populated by robots. In
order for manufacturers to respond to changing
demands and specifications, prototypes must
be generated quickly. MicroStrain sensors
can be used by drones and robots to
obtain exact location, velocity, and
attitude information. We’ve put
them to the test and have data to
back up how well they perform
in real-world circumstances vs.
competitors’ sensors. We also have
a wide choice of products in store, all
of which are tailored to our customers’
performance and price requirements. Due
to the pandemic’s urgency, all parties involved
must respond quickly and develop new solutions
and applications.
