1. POWERPOINT PRESENTATION – Be sure to include the following in
your PowerPoint presentation.
Must have at least 8 slides (no more than 10)
Information that should be included in your PowerPoint presentation must include
the following for the GROUP chosen and elaborate on the specific elements selected.
For the specific elements include ALL requirements for the Element Ball: (Be able to
provide detail and elaborate on each item)
a. Name of group/family
b. Physical properties of group (color, odor, taste, hardness,magnetism etc)
c. State of matter
d. Metal/nonmetal/metalloid
e. Chemical properties (electronegativity, melting/boiling point, Ionization energies,
radius)
f. # Valence electrons
g. Similarities b/w elements in group
h. General uses
Make good use of graphics and animation (Don’t go wild. Including too many
sounds or special effects can be distracting to the audience, but may also contribute
to creativity)
Be careful with all of the computer equipment. Make sure your Internet search
includes appropriate sites. (Not Wikipedia) And properly cite them.
SAVE DATA ON A BACK UP CD or USB drive AS WELL AS YOUR OWN
COMPUTER or your school account. (You may use one of the classroom disks
or bring your own from home.)
ORAL REPORT - Be sure to include the following in your Oral Report.
When presenting be sure to speak toward the audience not the Promethean board
or computer.
Speak up! Talk loud enough for the people in the back of the room to
hear you.
Share equal time If working in groups. Both partners must contribute equally.
Your presentation should be between 3 – 4 minutes in length. (No more
than 5 min.)
Don’t read what is on the screen. (The audience can do that.) Explain and
elaborate. Be an expert on your element. Be able to answer questions.
