Artificial intelligence (AI)
1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
1
Machine ability to learn,
understand and act on the
information and events,
designed to augment,
provide supports to human
and support them in
performing tasks.
AI is a branch of computer
science which works on
designing computers and
robots as intelligent as
humans.
It is a fascinating concept of
science fiction since decades.
2. Real time applications of Artificial Intelligence
Health care
Retail
Manufacturing
Sports
Google Maps (Search Algorithms)
Carpooling Facilities in Cab Services
Fuzzy Logic System
Neural Networks
House bots and Chat bots
Cleaning bots 2
3. Usages of Artificial Intelligence
Machine Learning
Natural language Processing
Speech Recognition and Translation
Robotics
Machine Vision
Image Recognition
Deep Learning
Handwriting Recognition
Intelligent Robots

4. Task classification of AI
Mundane (ordinary) tasks include perception, recognition, language processing, reasoning
and locomotive robots etc.
Formal tasks include computing mathematical algorithms (such as integration,
differentiation, geometry and logic), games, verification and theorem proving etc.
Expert tasks include engineering, fault finding, medical diagnosis, financial analysis,
monitoring, manufacturing, scientific analysis etc.

5. Impact of artificial intelligence on our lives
Automated transport
Semi-automated cars has
already started.
Other transport methods are
near to complete automation
such as buses and trains.
Cyborg technology
Computer and devices can be
used to improve human
capabilities.
People with amputated limbs
can get help with robotic
limbs which can be
controlled with mind.
Taking over dangerous jobs
Robots and machines with AI
has taken dangerous jobs e.g.
bomb diffusion.
Robots can be used for taking
pictures from thermal and
infrared sensors.
5
6. Impact of artificial intelligence on our lives-2
Improved elder care
Robots can help in elderly
person in household tasks
and can make them feel
independent. e.g. cleaning
bots.
Robots as a friend
In coming years robots may
be able to feel and
understand human gestures,
can make them happy and be
friends with them.
Solving climate change
Tracking the environment
data is a difficult task for the
person everyday. But robots
can easily do that and with
accuracy.

7. Concerns about Artificial Intelligence
Super intelligent AI is unlike to show human emotions like love, hate, fear etc. and this is a big reason
to worry.
The autonomous weapons with AI program in wrong hands can do something devastating. It is
extremely difficult to “turn off” these systems and they can cause mass causalities.
Sometimes AI program can do beneficial things but the way they use can distractive e.g. reaching to
the airport as fast as possible into driverless car may break all traffic rules.
Some researchers are shows the possibility of human level AI which will eventually lead to
unemployment.
Eventually human will experience reduction in their cognitive, social and survival skills with
increasing dependence on AI.

8. Expected growth of AI in coming decades
8
Today semi-automated cars are available in the market and car manufacturing
companies are working on the concept of driverless cars. Present kind of AI is
known as Artificial Narrow Intelligence.
In 2040, AI made robots will compete with humans across all endeavors. It is as
“Artificial General Intelligence”.
After that AI systems will demonstrate intelligence beyond human capabilities. It
is named as “Artificial Super Intelligence”.
9. Conclusion
Humans are getting used to AI everyday, all day.
AI has a bright future but some risks are also associated with upcoming advancements in AI.
AI can help and save human efforts and time to do difficult jobs and can direct to right path.
Robots will be able to take full time jobs with Artificial Super Intelligence.
Some experts also concerned about AI’s dominance on humans in coming years.
It may be dangerous for mankind if not used in proper manner while concerned about e.g. autonomous
weapons.
