Background
Data publication is new in the research workflow for many. This workshop is a
jump start to get you up to speed on best practices and tools that simplify the data
publication process.

Objectives
Understand EDI’s core mission and services.
Organize and clean data for publishing.
Create information rich EML metadata to be published with the data.
Upload the data and metadata to the EDI Data Repository.
Link published data to creators and construct a simple data catalog.

Good practices when participating in an online workshop:
● Keep bandwidth high by closing unnecessary applications
● Keep your video turned on to create a more “human” feel to the workshop
● Mute when you are not speaking
