3. Deuteronomy 4:1-8 - “And now, O Israel,
listen to the statutes and the rules that I
am teaching you, and do them, that you
may live, and go in and take possession of
the land that the Lord, the God of your
fathers, is giving you. You shall not add to
the word that I command you, nor take
from it, that you may keep the
commandments of the Lord your God
that I command you…See, I have taught
you statutes and rules, as the Lord my
God commanded me…

4. Keep them and do them, for that will be
your wisdom and your understanding in
the sight of the peoples, who, when they
hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this
great naKon is a wise and understanding
people.’ For what great naKon is there
that has a god so near to it as the Lord our
God is to us, whenever we call upon him?
And what great naKon is there, that has
statutes and rules so righteous as all this
law that I set before you today?

5. Keep them and do them, for that will be

6. Isaiah 42:16-17 - I will lead the blind in a
way that they do not know, in paths that
they have not known I will guide them. I
will turn the darkness before them into
light, the rough places into level ground.
These are the things I do, and I do not
forsake them.

In the future your children will
ask you, “What is the meaning
of these laws, decrees, and
regulaKons that the Lord our
God has commanded us to
obey?”
Then you must tell them,
“The Lord our God commanded
us to obey all these decrees and
to fear him so he can conKnue
to bless us and preserve our
lives…”
