  1. Hello and welcome to my presentation of how Essential Wellness can promote productivity while increasing the bottom line and enhancing the overall company moral. My name is Erica Steele and I am the owner of Essential Wellness complimentary healthcare. I have been in the natural healthcare business helping companies such as yours develop new and exciting ways to bring health and wellbeing to your staff. Today we will discuss how corporate wellness can benefit your company as a whole and increase revenue dollars. We we also discuss wasted employee compensations and how easy it is to regain based on a proven complementary wellness system that major companies such as yourself currently utilize to increase the health of their companies team as well as their profits. Please hold all questions until the end of the presentation and again thank you for the opportunity to speak here at Digifast today.
  2. First thing is first. Currently your company is loosing revenue. How do I know your company is losing revenue? Simply, the United States bureau of labor averages that all full time employees take an average of 8 days a year off from work. Mind you this is eight PAID sick days of work that for one you are unable to recoup and two you are not gaining anything from, no project completions, new contracts, or services, nothing. These are eight full days you are spending per employee to cough, sneeze, watch Oprah, whatever, eight days that you are paying without the benefit of work. Now, the average median hourly rate in Virginia Beach is $14.93 per hour. Now I know some of you may make a little more and some may make a little less, but as an average $14.93 is paid out hourly per employee. Multiple that by the average 8 hours per workday. Now you have spent $119.44 days paying professionals to watch Oprah, sneeze, and cough. Now I am not trying to be insensitive I know things happen and people become ill, but later we will discuss how we can prevent these running nose phenomena's. After the 8.5 average of sick days are taken by your professional full time employees Digifast has now spent an average $1,015.24 per employee. Multiply that by the number of cubicles, coffee cups, or parking spaces and now we have a sink hole in the companies revenue.
  3. How will Digifast regain this revenue? How can you as the employer prevent these sick days from occurring. Now I am no miracle worker and I am not going to tell you that I have a magic wand where no one will get sick anymore, but I have a way to reduce the numbers drastically while improving the excitement behind going to work. Maybe even eliminate some of those call ins from employees that could possibly drink some tea and brave the day.
  4. Lets talk about workplace wellness for a moment. Many companies are understanding the benefits and dare I say even Obama supports company tax incentives for starting them. But why is everyone so eager to jump on the band wagon. Let’s take a look. According to John Bates who spent twenty years as an insurance agent specializing in employee benefits and group health insurance the benefits are overwhelming. So much so he left the insurance business after 20 years and started a company known as Infinite Wellness Solutions catering to companies just like you looking to recoup employee sick time. Not to mention that even if they are in the office and not at home are they really working efficiently. There is not a micromanager in the world that can keep up with 20 wayward employees. So let’s look at what essential wellness can do for you. Corporate wellness programs harbor increased workplace moral. When people are healthy, guess what people like their company, especially if the company is supplying the health. Just think about. With the moral comes productivity, I like my job. Increased responsibility, I am good at my job. I take pride in my work. Increased company loyalty, the company down the street who offered me a dollar more an hour doesn’t have a wellness program. And above all else work performance, I am going to work really hard for my wellness day. With all of this increases we are going to reduce absenteeism, reduce sick leave, and decrease the overall company healthcare cost. Group health insurance never looked so good. But don’t ask me as John he had twenty years in the insurance business.
  5. What is Essential Wellness. Essential Wellness is a complimentary healthcare facility located in Virginia Beach looking to reach out to where patients need us the most. At our healthcare center we offer nutritional counseling, yoga, as well as comprehensive bodywork. We outsource to other healthcare professionals for instance a chiropractor who is amazing. Notice we are a complimentary healthcare company. We are not trying to replace your PCP. We do not want to be your cardiologist we want to be a part of your preventative care, because let’s face it when you don’t take care of your care it snowballs right. Try not getting that oil change for 50,000 miles and see what happens. You body is no different it is your vehicle and more often than not you need to rotate the tires, change the oil, spark plugs, and replace a few filters. In my nine years of experience in the health and wellness field I have found that diet, exercise, stretching, and chiropractic care has saved me from a lot of unwanted illness. I will tell you a story about myself really quick. In 2007 I was in a major car accident where I fractured my neck. I was only a few mm away from becoming a quadriplegic. Once I came to from all the medication I sat around all day in agony. I had a halo on the whole deal and I was miserable. Imagine a type A personality stuck in a halo. I spent three agonizing months in that apparatus. I went to the doctor about every two weeks and all they would give me was pills over and over again. Which was fine at first but then I realized there has to be a better way. I had been in natural health for about 7 years at that point so I knew there was a better way. I started massaging my neck, I started eating right, I went hiking, I began to heal. When I went back to the doctor you know what they told me when I was telling them they needed to take my halo off? You know too much. As if caring about my body and caring about what goes into my body were abnormal. Needless to say I kept the halo on for a few more weeks and eventually took the thing off because I knew my body. But more importantly I knew I had to be able to kick the tires, rotate them around a little and being able to allow my body to do it’s magic, without soma and percocet. At the first opportunity I developed Essential Wellness. Wellness that is no longer optional but necessary for these days and times. What is amazing about this program is that we can bring the wellness to you where you need it the most. Digifast picks a wellness day, employees sign up, and complimentary healthcare providers such as chiropractors, massage therapists, naturopaths, nutritional counselors and more come to you in your office every week.
  6. Each week there is also someone different coming in office. After a brief thirty minute evaluation at our clinic for participating employees, essential wellness providers then come in office and meet with participants for 15 mins per week. The first week the nutritional counselor comes in to ensure every brown bag sac has something worthwhile and nutritious. Week two a yoga instructor comes in and has group yoga with each of the staff teaching practicality and self care techniques to keep everyone's body strong and ergonomic. Week three is most peoples favorite week offering massage therapy in office for 15 minute increments. Followed by week four that consists of a chiropractic care coming onsite to ensure that everyone’s body is operating at optimal health. Now I know what you may be thinking.To have four practitioners come in house, that must be expensive and here is what I say to that…
  7. It’s not. Initially Digifast will pay $50 per professional as a administrative fee for the initial consults. This is so the professional can arrange this and reserve time just for you. After the initial set up fee. For four hours of care it is only $200 per week. That is still about $800 less than what you are currently spending on each persons sick time. And with this you have the ability to increase immunity, increase productivity, moral all those things. And those are just fringe benefits included in the service. This service will pay for itself over the course of four weeks guaranteed. While doing this program with Coca Cola I saw the absenteeism especially on wellness day nearly become non existence. Plus it is a great way to incentivize and motivate your team. First one that sells ten customers receives a free massage or gets a detoxification on us. Think about it, it’s a great way to drum up excitement and enthusiasm about the company and the companies compassion with regards to its employees health.
  8. What does set up entail. The process is easy. First you designate the weekly wellness day, you can change the day every week or make it consistent. It is generally more successful when you keep a stationary day. I email you a mass email and flyers to print and post, all ready predone all you have to do is follow through. Employees can then log online and schedule via the online scheduler and they are only permitted to sign up for 15 minute blocks in time that YOU as the company designates. Essential Wellness then comes on their assigned day and sets up in the predetermined conference room for four hours and then sneak out like a little mouse once they are done.
  9. Savings!! Everyone wants a good deal these days. So here is what I can do for Digifast. Employees can contribute, they can match you. Employees can chip in $5-$10 for their weekly care, who can’t afford that, especially with all they are gaining. Employees can then even bill out their flex accounts for the treatments because it is health related. Additionally we have payment plans they are able to have the contributions deducted from their accounts. So in essence Digifast could supply this service with no cost out of their pocket other than the initial set up fee. $200 for healthy employees, increased productivity, decreased healthcare costs, etc. Think it’s a great idea.
  10. Well your not the only one. Companies such as Johnson & Johnson has had one of longest running corporate wellness programs and in 2007 they avoided paying $15.9 million dollars in healthcare costs for 2007 alone. Microsoft has personalized doctors to make house calls for employees to avoid ER visits. They have also trimmed down obesity within their company providing free meals to eat onsite or at home. They have also been named continually on the Fortune 100 best places to work. Safeway started a “healthy measures” program where the company monitors things like cholesterol, weight, and blood pressure in an effort to lower premiums. And obviously it worked because in 2003 they reduced their healthcare costs by 13 percent and saved employees 20 percent on their premiums. Ohio Department of Health began the “Take Charge, Live Well” initiative that incentives employees who stay fit and live better with monetary bonuses. And now Digifast, your company has an opportunity to help make your employees well through initiating your own program. For only a few cents your company can be an innovator in these unhealthy times we live in, reduce smoking, reduce weight, reduce dis-ease and promote healthy compliments to any and everyone's lifestyle.
