•The first woman to climb Mt Everest was
Junko Tabei.
•The first blind person to climb Mt Everest
was Erik Weihenmayer.
•The youngest Irish man to climb Mt
Everest was Mark Quinn.
•The first Irish man to climb Mt Everest
was Pat Falvey.
•Mount Everest is 29,035 feet or 8848 metres high.
•It is over 60 million years old.
•Everest grows about a quarter of an inch every
year.
•The rocky top is covered with deep snow all
year long.
